With regards to the ending, I think they actually could have gotten out of it pretty easily. Both Dede and Roach went to knock on their door to ask for some sugar, which is perfectly legal to do. After that though, they got kidnapped and held at gunpoint in their house. It would have been legal, although frowned upon, for their friends and relatives to go onto their property to save them from the kidnapping. Sure it's preferable to call the cops and let them handle it, but it isn't against the law for them to save someone in danger. They've surely got the marks on their hands and face from the tape not to mention priors for all of the brothers so the evidence is pretty strong in favor of Craig and everyone else that they're innocent.
