Penumbra is the moons shadow. The ring around the moon is the corona, the suns atmosphere.

Awesome! I'm pretty sure I took that picture at the end. I so glad you gave me that card. It was great chatting with you. That drive back to MI was not 😵💫

Our drive included some balloon hunting so we got back VERY late! Thanks for your pictures and interest, it was great chatting with you!

Great launch, best shot of the Eclipse I have seen. But the best was to see all those smiling faces.

Thanks so much! We were smiles all around once the balloon was in the air!

How far away from the launch site do these typically land? I understand it would depend on wind, altitude, etc, but just a general idea?
@FLALabs8 ай бұрын
Great question! This one traveled 88 miles which is pretty typical. We have tools that we use to calculate the approximate landing location based on factors like wind, payload, and lifting gas!

Bad timing for eclipse !
@FLALabs8 ай бұрын
Perfect timing for eclipse! We were hoping it would happen while our balloon was in the path of totality!
@MB0318 ай бұрын
@@FLALabs I meant, that you should calculate time to get that baloon to 100K feet over clouds to see totality there.
@FLALabs8 ай бұрын
That would have been another cool view to see, yeah!
