A DAD of three keeps over 100 native animals in his private zoo home in Mount Egerton, Australia. Michael founded wildlife education company, The Rookeepers, in 2012. Since then The Rookeepers have grown to become a recognised name in ecological learning across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Michael’s goal is to connect children and adults alike with nature and encourage more sustainable ways of living. The mobile zoo is home to a wide range of Australian native animals including reptiles, birds, mammals and marine life. Michael’s daughters, zookeepers Yarra, 2, and Zali, 3, are huge wildlife enthusiasts and help their dad to look after the animals. Michael said: “They're always a part of it and I try to get them as involved as possible because I think connections with animals and kids at a young age is really important.”

They are not endangered according to the IUCN, the international body that determines conservation statuses of species.

Snakes are more likely to be scared of you then then you are them 9 times out 10. You see the way the snake was behaving when he pulled it out of it's cage. Thats distress. It was trying to to go back in to the comfort of it's heat lamp and escape being touched.

Big respect to people who love wildlife and help wild animals in different situations. It's sad to read the news of Australia listing the koala as an endangered species, even though the Koala is Australia's iconic animal. The impact of forest fires, land clearing, drought, and disease has caused the Koala to become extinct. I hope that the koala conservation agency can solve the problem of almost extinct koalas. Prayers from afar, koalas and other animals are always in good health and live a long life. Amen. Jbu all

Honestly I'm glad most of these beautiful exotic animals can't be domesticated, because there are many humans, who would be love struck at first site, love&keep these poor animals at home, then after some years neglect these animals, and lock them in a cage, making their lives miserable. ... think I'm lying, look at what most people do the domesticated dog.. sometimes humans are the worst, wanting things that they cant fully provide a good life for. But thank God for this good guy ,we need more people like him...
