My favourite thing about this vlog is that while all of us in the audience, and Rob himself, were crying through Empty Chairs, Carrie was ranting at her laptop in her dressing room 😂 (Also I may have just sobbed again while watching this entire vlog remembering how emotional last night was 😭😭)

Carrie, it is so sad that the theatre has closed again. So many precautions have clearly been taken. To put it in perspective, I am a nurse in the community and have only been tested once since the beginning of Covid-19. Colleagues have been tested positive and we don’t have Covid bubbles so still expected to work. For the theatre industry doing so much to prevent anyone from catching it, it seems so silly to shut your doors again. I hope you will be open again soon and I hope I can come and watch you for the first time one day! ❤️

I have been told by many nurse friends that they are not tested regularly! If hospitals don’t require their staff to test regularly and theatres are doing that willingly, it should show how important safety is to the theatre staff/performers. So very sad

@@baylay1062 in the hospitals they have Covid tests readily available to be tested once a week. Unfortunately in the community we don’t even have the option to be tested! I think they should be mandatory. But I agree with you - it’s taken a lot more seriously in places like theatres!!

hearing an entire ensemble sing in a show always makes me emotional when i’m in a theatre, but the ending made me even more emotional even though i’m watching it through a screen. it all feels so big and it sucks. hope you will be back very soon.

Being there last night was something else. I wept from start to finish and the atmosphere in there was just incredible! We were dress circle c28 and felt so safe inside with so many measures in place- so much more dangerous one street over where it was rammed full of people!! Haven’t done a show in over a year :( but whenever I’m in a show I always pack everything up while I’m waiting to go on at some point in act 2 so I can just get straight home once the show finishes. I saw you doing the same and it made me feel so warm and a bit sad cause that’s such a tiny ritual that I always loved. It’s those small things that I miss the most about theatre. Gosh. I just ache all over when I think about how long it’s been since I’ve been on stage. :(

I know you talked about scrapbooking your wrist bands, but I think they would also be cool in a fillable Christmas bauble. My mother-in-law filled one for us with little things from our wedding and it was super sweet. We don't have a tree so I haven't pulled it out in a couple years but I know it has a paper napkin because my husband chose ones with a really pretty color swirl, and a lucky penny that she thinks was a sign from Grandpa, who died 3 months before the wedding.

Carrie that was so moving . I couldn't agree more that the streets are scarily overcrowded & people are not wearing masks. I was at the matinee performance on Saturday 12th December and felt far safer in the theatre than outside on the street or in any shops. It's all so wrong to close the theatres. I want to thank you & all the rest of the cast and everyone involved with the show for all the hard work that's gone into entertaining us musical theatre lovers. We WILL be back.💕💕👏👏👏👏👏

I moved to London last year and was so enjoying being able to go to the theatre and sit in the cheap seats after work and I so miss it. I live in Australia and to see this continue to happen not only makes me cry but makes me angry that you all have to live through this again. I had my first bigger show canceled on me in March so I understand all the feelings. I am lucky that we here are able to do shows again but that does not make your situation any worse. I wasn’t feeling sad about my own ‘break’ from doing amateur musical theatre until I saw myself reflected in your emotions. My last show was in September last year, and I stepped back because of my mental health, I was going to go back in June, but obviously couldn’t. Totally feeling your sadness. Last day at school today, and at the staff gathering our head teacher mentioned that we may not be fully reopening- closing all year groups except Year 11, everything else will be online. I'll still get to teach, but it's just not the same as being in the classroom and being able to joke with the kids and dance around the room and brighten their day. They won't see their friends again for a good couple of weeks, maybe even months, and there will be kids stuck in abusive homes, being physically or emotionally abused or just neglected. Worst of all, I know which kids they'll be. As exhausted as I am, I'm so miserable that term is over and that I'm not in work where I can help them. We all just need this shit show to end so we can have our lives again.

I'm so sad for you. I think theater is one thing I've taken for granted as something that would just always be there if I wanted to save up and go. I was in productions when I was in high school and I remember being so close to people and knowing how many people, that you don't see, that it takes to put something on. It is just so sad and so frustrating all around.

I feel you Carrie! This year I came from the USA to the England to study makeup for work in the film/television/theater industry and was so excited to start a new career, but, unfortunately, the pandemic sidelined it before I could even start. I am so grateful that I was able to study abroad (England has always been a dream of mine - I was in Bath!) and I know that it's not forever, but I 100% feel what you are feeling. But! Crying. Was supposed to come and see it on Christmas Eve with my mum for our Christmas present to each other. Devastated that won’t be happening now and don’t know when we’ll get to see this again. I’m pregnant and know I would have felt completely safe inside that theatre, we would have got taxis to and from the train station so we weren’t walking around with all the crowds, but the rules are madness!

I barely have words to describe what this video makes me feel. I miss the stages so much, both watching and performing, by being in Brazil I still haven't been able to perform this year nor to go back to theatre college presential classes. Few theatres are reoppening now, with half capacity or less, while malls have being full for months. Wish you best of luck Carrie, absolutely love your videos. As the new year approaches I believe it'll bring us all more hope and new perspectives to the entertainment industry.
