I still remember us screaming when he came out on that stage during Arsenio Hall in his white suit singing Whip Appeal. He has always been a symbol of class, love, sensitivity, and sensuality. and yes I know of Prince, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and other great songwriters that were greater talents than Babyface in other respects and other categories, but in that one aspect of writing more top 10 hits for other artists as well as himself that title belongs to Babyface. Simply look at his list of songs he's written for others and their chart placing and compare that to anyone else. I'll wait to see if you can find another artist that beats that.***again I'm not comparing him to Prince's abilities or Stevie's, I'm only talking about the number of top 10 hits he's written for himself and the number of songs he's written for other artists.

Babyface is a legend and one of the kings of R&B! His immense talent as a singer, songwriter, guitarist/producer and not just for himself but other artists was/is incredible! He is up there with Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Luther Vangross and Usher in my opinion as far as R&B and music greats. He definitely deserves his flowers!

I am probably Babyface's #1 fan since he performed with The Deele (yes, I am a dinosaur 🦕 😄). I've always playfully referred to him as "MY husband," and my favorite song of his (which saddened me that he didn't perform in concert when I saw him) is "Where Will You Go?" Something about the depth in his vocals on that song reach my soul. Great tribute to ("my husband" 😉), Kenneth Brian "Babyface" Edmonds. 👏
