I congratulate you for having such a pleasant channel and for being such nice people. As a Mexican, I thank you for having addressed the issue of the Metro in my city, since I believe it is necessary for information of this type to be transmitted, to know that in Mexico there are also many good things and that they work excellently. and see that this country, apart from having fabulous places for tourism, there are other things that, like in other countries, also work very well. Just an extra comment: I'm surprised that this excellent channel doesn't have more comments and more subscribers. Ladies and gentlemen of the more than 3000 views of the channel, let's do them the honor by subscribing. Greetings from Mexico City.

13:58 Bellas Artes station was gifted by Paris Govt since Mexico City subway was built based on Paris’s technology. It could be said Parisian and Mexican subways are siblings, the oldest trains (no longer in service) were French and rubber tires were a French design.

"Mexico City's subway, commonly known as “el Metro,” opened its first line of service on September 4, 1969. Since then, the mass transit system, operated by the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC), has expanded to include 195 stations across twelve lines that serve an estimated five and a half million riders per day"

💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 just wondering what the public transport and accessibility is like? I love the idea of woman/children carriages, wish more places would maybe adopt that.

Hey Stephanie/Paul I’ve lived in Mexico City my whole life. The reason why you don’t see people eat inside a Metro car is not because there’s a law against it (at least in my experience): it’s because we were educated that you can’t trust other people’s cleanliness and you should always imagine the worst. We don’t trust each other’s hygiene habits and we believe that if you eat something at while riding the metro, since you won’t sanitize the bars that you hold on to or the seat that you are seating on, is a sure way to get a nice stomach infection. Hope you enjoy your stay, though. He he he.

rubber tires?? how do they switch tracks? .
@eternalspringcdmx Жыл бұрын
We've not seen that, but they must have curved areas that intertwine.

The system with which the rolling of the carriages works is mixed, so apart from having rubber tires, the carriage additionally has metal wheels that roll on a metal rail and also has a vertical metal bar that It serves as a guide. Greetings from Mexico City.

Beijing has my favorite subway system. VERY clean, and fast. The station at the airport is hard to find though! The metro in CDMX is free if you are a student or if you are a senior (60+) with an INAPAM card. Just show the card/student id to the gate guard and they'll let you in. Yes, 5 pesos ... but it adds up if you're there a while :) During rush hours some of the lines become sardine cans, even when it's not a holiday. There's an incredibly helpful app for the metro called Metro-Metrobus Mexico by yalla ya. Enter your starting station and destination station and it'll tell you exactly how to get there. And yes, the stairs getting to the airport station are killer, even with just my backpack!
