My Mom and I followed Logan’s journey from start to finish - unfortunately I never told her that be passed as I didn’t think my Mom could handle the news, being in poor health herself and 88 yrs old. Logan mattered! By you rescuing him, getting him a foster mom/furrever mom, in lieu of"humanely euthanasing" him, all of his struggles counted. He's a beautiful cat. Bless you for caring for him and giving him the life he should have had from the day he was born. You can easily see by his facial expressions, that he knew you were helping him even if it was a little uncomfortable at times like vet treatments and baths. I've had family members pass (aunts, grandparents, etc) and it is heartbreakingly painful... however I had never experienced grief of such intensity as when I lost two kitties within months of each other (one swallowed a meter of sewing thread and didn't survive the surgery, the other was sleeping next to me and suddenly jumped up gave the most heartrending wail and just died while I looked on in shock). It's been eight years and I still find myself tearing up whenever I come across their photos. Edit: Just finished the video... now I'm bawling... RIP Logan if you see my Pelu and Michi in the Rainbow Bridge tell them they daddy misses them very much.

Yes, I've lost my human elders, all due to aging. And, I've also lost senior doggos and several kitties who didn't come home before I got the good common sense that, when possible, cats should be indoors. Then there was Rhett Butler King, the most affectionate, smart, beautiful Abyssinian who ever breathed air. As I put it, I didn't just love him, I fell in love with him and he fell in love with me. He died in my arms at a young age, he had aspirated a blade of kitty grass that caused sepsis, my vet was not able to determine what was happening. My grief was terrible, though it has eased after 12 years. I have my grey tabby, Buster, now, a wonderful companion. Thank you for sharing.
