In our opinion, the best time to visit Thailand or any SEA countries is when it's not monsoon season. People generally avoid monsoon seasons as its very wet and rainy. Hope this helps!

Aloha Joey! I'm here in Chiang Mai and plan on going to the sanctuary in 2b days. Are sandals ok? Or do I need walking shoes?

Hey Kenneth! So when we visited, I wore croc sandals and Phuong wore flip flops. From our experience it was perfectly fine to wear sandals! You can even pack a pair of shoes and leave it inside one of the storage rooms, swap in and out depending on how you feel. But I think flip flops/sandals will do the job :)

Do they have lockers for you to keep your bag/valuables in on site?

Hey Baz! so they don't have lockers on site, but what they do have is a room with shelving units where everyone would put their belongings and valuables. The rooms door remains shut most of the time while we were there and was only opened when other group members needed to store away their items or needed to take out their wallets, phones, etc. In our opinion, it is not the most secure way to store your valuables but it was the only way. I would just be extra vigilant and mindful with these situations and you could bring a small lock to lock your bag zips which can add an extra layer of security. In the end nothing happened with our group, there was no complaints and no missing items. Hope this helps!
