Zaf Khan it’s not that he’s seen as a threat, it’s him putting their name in his videos. Also copyright and trademark law here in the US requires them companies to adamantly, and sometimes foolishly, defend their IP because if you don’t then you risk losing your CR or TM

They use real leather, it's not plastic. Louis Vuitton uses a canvas material that is layered over the leather. The canvas is there to protect and to keep the leather in shape for a longer period of use.

@@krazzysu Reason why Louis Vuitton products last through floods, tsunami's and water damage is because of their use in canvas. They layer canvas over high-quality leather. It does not deteriorate at all and if it does you might have an unauthentic Louis Vuitton product.

Keita Ueno most of their items are made with PVC coated canvas over fabric. The only leather being used is for the handles and straps. Very few of their wallets are made with real leather. Anything LV you see made with their monogram or damier print, is plastic. Trust me, I’ve repurposed many LV products.

@@perasperaadastra7712 It's not a competition, and it shouldn't ever be one. Leatherworking is an incredibly vast craft that has been around for thousands of years. It is impossible to learn it all in one lifetime, let alone master all it. Of course there are going to be people better out there, but it's not about being the best. It's about being wherever you are in your creative journey and making steps as often as you can to improve your skill set and knowledge base so that the next thing you make is (hopefully) better than the last thing you made. It is silly to think that anything you (or anyone else) says could humiliate someone who has worked hard to learn a bad-ass skill, and then share that skill with the world in a way very few people can and do.

I just love to watch how you working on the projects..it just reminds me of my childhood days the noise of punching, sewing, pounding are just a music to my ears. I grew up when my mother has her business in bag making she had at least 20 employees that working day and night when school bags productions is at season, until the cheap Chinese bags gets in the market double lower than our price so the industries juell fell apart. and luckily my sister pursue the business and up to this day she still making the productions . My mother who is now 90 years old bless her heart, just love watching all your videos. Thank you and keep posting more videos ... I had a small project in mind and I got inspired by your great works!!!!

Made for $35 and sold for $35 are totally different. I do not know how much time it took Corter to make the wallet, but one of the other comments says ~6 hours. So the selling price would depend upon how much the guy thinks his time is worth. If it's minimum wage(some $15), then it easily goes to $120. Also, LV going legal is because companies like theirs face a lot of counterfeiters and also for TM purposes

If LVMH fashion house’s own copyright and blueprints that were patented only for a specific design, literally down to the last panel, was copied they would have the right to sue. Secondly, they creator is not selling the wallet. It’s not illegal to make the wallet for artist purposes. Also, the LVMH brand makes Billions in multiple industries. If you were pressed about LV losing out in some form of socio-economic way because someone liked their product and replicated a similar product out of appreciation for materials and craftmenship, fear not. Also, writing ‘end of discussion’ at the end doesn’t make you look civilised or end the conversation in your favour. Please go and act like a Karen elsewhere ❤️

How do you get your stitching holes to always perfectly line up with the corners?

We usually punch the inside first so the holes land where we want on the pockets, then punch the exterior with the interior next to it and just make sure they roughly line up. It's not perfect but it usually works pretty nicely!

I ran into issues with my stitching chisels getting stuck once the glued leather pieces start getting thick. Maybe that's why they punch holes before glueing?

Can you explain the stitching process/order of operations at the end where you are stitching the inner panel to the exterior? I love the look of the full border stitch at the bottom, ive seen a lot where they'll skip it. I see that you stitched across the fold before gluing. And then when you went down the other side did you meet that stitch at the fold?

yep! stitch across the fold and mark where the other side will meet - stitch to that point. The second stitch line meets up and completes the stitch line
