Bc I don’t think the online support is going anywhere for rise and for GU I really wouldn’t know I play it on the switch with my buddies and haven’t seen any sign of it going away? Unless they openly announce it shutting down I think you should be fine. And since rise is on pc and in that catagory for new gen I don’t think it’s loosing it. Also if you plan to play it on the switch both games would require a online subscription so that’s a limitation if ur wondering.

Speaking of Fextralife wiki not being well maintained, I thought to share what I've witnessed with Elden Ring, and Bloodborne. There were instances of boss pages that had strategy tips that were terrible advice, as well as first person writing as if it were a blog. One bullet point tip in the strategies/tips section was "I died to this boss multiple times."

Shame fextra doesn't make use of it since they're the one that gets the most attention(from what I've noticed with people I've come across) The Kirkhammer on Fextralife apparently has a 1.0x modifier on its damage in the untransformed state, when it's supposed to be the same as Ludwig's Holy Blade, 0.70x. how do they not just copy/paste the numbers at this point? It's just the numbers.

You might not have the largest reach in this sphere (that's probably RageGaming or people like Rurikhan or maybe Arekkz), but in terms of investment into the lore and actual rigor of sourcing your stuff, you are absolutely on top of the game. You and Gaijin hunter both are/were my entry point to the deeper parts of the games' lore and backgrounds (including development), and I'm forever thankful for that. As a contributor to this Wiki (my name there is MartTheLorekeeper), it's an honor to be part of it! You may also know me as "A friend of that koser" in the Fandom Wiki, which has pretty much been my second home for the past several years. One day from not too long ago, someone showed me another Monster Hunter Wiki and asked if I was interested to help out and, well, here I am today! Again, such an honor to be working on your Wiki. Heck, dare I say, I just might prefer it over the Fandom one! Just don't tell anyone else from there, hehe... 😅 Edit: Also yeah, I'd like to admit that we workers in the Fandom Wiki are definitely guilty of providing info that isn't even confirmed as official. As of right now, there's this one note on Rey Dau's page that says the monster was potentially inspired by King Ghidorah of all things. The similarities it addresses are rather loose and even then, it's all a coincidence if anything. I'd remove the note myself but, they'll probably just put it back in later; it's just not worth getting into trouble for. Don't get me started with the Chatacabra etymology incident.

6:38 Looking forward to seeing all (or most) of the in-game text dialogue compiled somewhere eventually so that the whole community can seek sourcing on their own as-needed :) EDIT: There are some miss-able and/or non-repeating bits of text dialogue in Monster Hunter World Iceborne about Fatalis and Alatreon that are great insights into how different people perceive such powerful monsters, with some asking questions somewhere in the realm of "should monsters like that be allowed to exist?" I'd love to have access to those bits of dialogue on each monster's respective wiki page, but it would also be nice to be able to search things up "manually" in case something is deemed as "not worth adding to a page to prevent bloat" or something to that effect.

I remember playing through 3 Ultimate and every time you are tasked with fighting a new monster you could talk to all the townsfolk and they would each give you tidbits about the monster. It acted almost like an in-game method of researching the monster before you even fought it, so you could prepare accordingly. Having all of the dialog from these games transcribed somewhere would be quite an undertaking, especially if you need to keep track of what conditions are required to trigger the dialog.

Ever since I came back to World a couple months ago, I've been waiting for something like this wiki to pop up. Playing through Iceborne for the first time, and especially figuring out the guiding lands, there was a lot of info that I knew I couldn't rely on from wikis like the ones on fandom or fextra. And LITERALLY EVERY TIME I went to either wiki for info on some even vaguely obscure aspect, like rare endemic life, I was either met with nothing or with blatant misinformation. Huge props to you and the team behind this, as well as the community contributing to maintaining it.

Such as Rust Duramboros digging to it's nest in 3U or Diablos instantly enraging when its low health? Fandom used to have it and then it dissipeared. It was so cool to learn and it was the only way I learnt that Elder Dragon Horns only break once they are almost dead.

Finally a reliable source for me to understand the Monster Hunter Series! The only thing that could become an issue is data on the lesser known and explored games in the series. I’m referring to Monster Hunter Online, Explore, and potentially Frontier ( Frontier is the most known so it shouldn’t be an issue). I would love to help in those areas but I haven’t played the games and only know of them form RageGamingVideos and a lesser known KZbin channel who played Online when it was still active. I will still use the wiki however!

This sounds like an amazing idea. I have only one suggestion, and that is if you decide to include weapon trees on the wiki, keep them as simple as possible.. There is no need for fancy animations, keep it simple. As much as I love KIRANICO the animated Monster Hunter world weapon pages are nearly unusable because they take so long to filter, and the glut of golden weapons makes it a pain to scroll through. All problems that are not shared with their older generation databases. Honestly, in my opinion the best weapon trees were the ones made on game FAQs back in the day, but that might just be my nostalgia talking

The only plus for Fextralife wikis of Monster Hunter is that it does cover endemic life, creatures that the hunter can either capture in their nets (MHWorld) or can take a picture of it (MHRise). Fandom doesn't do it effectively. Also, I have never visited Kiranico honestly since the reason I was even interested in Monster Hunter in the first place was to study the ecology of the monsters.
