Here's my attempt to make this wierd 'isekai' style work. Have the movie begin in a museum. Tour guides guiding people around as usual, main character is introduced. Has a love for fossils and extinct creatures. The tour guide eventually leads to an exhibit showing a skeleton never seen before in history, but is a legitimate skeleton. This is where monster hunter fans would realise its a skeleton of monster hunter, perhaps diablos, rathalos or other well known monsters. Have it shown that the skeleton was found in a dig site after strange weather, and was moved to the nearest museum after researchers concluded it was legitimate but unknown. Have the main character pass by several other future companions. Some wish they could see how the creatures fought, some wishing they could tame them . This group would be leaving the museum at the same time a large storm clearly not normal to earth begins and envelops the museum. Fog everywhere, screams, blood death etc. with a roar from an unknown beast (this would be the main threat and cause of the stories' issues, likely elder dragon tier or above) the survivors would end up in the monster hunter world in something akin to the guiding lands from world. Large monsters keep finding them and slowly the group gets whittle down to just the main humans and a couple others.A group of hunters then saves them and attempts to communicate, but there is a language barrier. One character happens to have a decent skill at understanding foreign languages by context, leading to the hunters bringing the civilians to the main 'hub' and the story then begins to alternate between the adaptation to a new world and fights with monsters. With the main characters taking different roles with the aim of returning home, or at the very least prevent others from being brought here. The main character wouldn't survive the final hunt. S/he would land a decisive blow so the rest of the team could finish the beast but would lose a limb or something and bleed out before seeing the end of the fight. After the fight the film cuts to several years later, the civilians have mostly adapted to the new world and are comfortable in their roles, the main characters friend (befriended earlier in the movie) is asked if they can help take down a new unresearched monster and they agree, grabbing their weapon of choice and heading out of the tent into a bright light. Cut to credit with the main theme playing. I've not played too much monster hunter outside world, rise and GU, but i know the stakes should be high in film like that. No plot armor, people who dont adjust will get wiped out . I know the plot is probably cliche but to me its a million times better than GATE the live action spinoff

This channel got me to play all the older monster hunter games and i absolutely adore the series. I look at it so differently from how i used to. Its not just an arcadey monster arena, vut a living and breathing world. Thank you for these incredible videos. Cant wait for your Wilds videos. It's my headcannon that my characters have studied all these "journal entries" to learn from them, haha

I like the idea of layered armor being avaliable from the very beginning and it costing the same as the non layered armor equivalent. That way if you really like the look of an armor in the early game but its skills suck, or they don’t match your weapon, you can work towards crafting it just as you would work towards non layered armor. At least until end game and then you could dial back the mat requirement, but even if you didn’t it would still hold prestige having rare armor, whether it be layered or normal

4:45 I want to say, as a student in animal science and biology, and environmental science that includes chemistry, it is entirely possible biologically for dragons to breathe fire. It does make sense when there are specific chemical reactions that can cause fire to spark and ignite in reaction to oxygen, it's just that the creatures need those specific chemical compounds to enable such an ability. Look at toxic and poisonous creatures as an example of diverse chemical compounds, along with some species of bearded dragons that squirt blood from their eyes. Even bio-luminescent animals and sea creatures can be looked at. Just examples to reference from.

Character writing felt a bit clumsy at times, but good climactic finale(s)! Though I was hoping for the return of the Rathalos Greatsword. :P Something like, before the final battle, "you‘ve come far since this was taken from you. Now, prove that you are worthy of a weapon for a Monster Hunter". To me, it doesn’t stand for who the hunter was, but for who he failed to be and what he should live up to. And also, it would have rounded the journey out nicely. Could even have emphasized, on some kind of decisive blow, how that blow came to be not because of the hunter‘s brawns or the sword‘s power, but because of his brawns, sword, experience, teammates and preparation working in tandem to grant him this opportunity. After all, a weapon doesn’t make the Monster Hunter, but it sure mustn‘t be absent from one, either. :P

I love MHGU. It's also the one game in the series I have burnt out on multiple times, but I keep coming back to. I could continue playing this game for 1000 more hours and still not be done with it, I'm sure. I started the series on MH4U, which is still my favorite, then played Gen on the 3DS. The early game was a slog. I cannot stress enough how slow it is, even when you know the key quests you need to do to unlock more MANDATORY gathering quests to unlock the next key quests like you said on the video. And that happens multiple times across both Low and High rank. I spend about 150 hours on that game back on the 3DS, and by the time I got to late high rank, I was just tired of it, and stopped playing. I had just come from 1,000 hours of 4U, so that was probably to be expected. But the early game pacing is really really bad still, imo. And if GenU didn't allow me to skip that stage by importing my save directly, I don't think I would have bought it again. I don't think I ever want to do that early bit of progression again in that game. Compound that with how insanely grindy weapon and armor upgrades are in that game, and how Deviants have 10 levels of quests you need to host yourself to progress through, and each singular part feels like it takes a whole set's worth of drops to upgrade... you can see how it tires people. And how they absolutely destroyed Charge Blade with nerfs to the moveset. The weapon that felt like an extension of my will as a hunter suddenly felt clunky, weak, unwieldy and vulnerable. When I picked that game back up, I spent nearly a week after unlocking G-Rank, just fulfilling (and unlocking new) villager requests and getting new ingredients and overall just unlocking all of the optional parts of the game that I would need to properly get into the next part of the game. Now I can come back to the game at any time, and being at HR12 as I left it, just take hunts at my leisure and just enjoy the vibe. Still, I love that game. It truly is the final ultimate celebration of the history of all of old generations of Monster Hunter, and I still did and do return to it every now and then. I just cannot play Guild CB. It hurts too much to not be able to do what I know I can do in any other game after it. Adept, Striker and Valor styles are cool with it, however. Even Aerial sometimes. Maybe after I'm done with Sunbreak, which I am finally playing right now, I might get back to that game. There are still at least 500 quests I haven't yet done.

Man if only World had a monster that absorbed energy which you could then stretch to having some kind of effect during its molting into safi'jivah like pulling people from different dimensions in if you are really keen on that isekai route... Other than that the focus of the movie should be discovery and research in a world that somehow copes with giant monsters that would wipe humankind out if they'd put some elbow grease in... like.. oh i dont know literally all the games have. How can anyone fuck this up ? Its like making a godzilla movie and barely having godzilla in it.. oh wait.
