The book is actually less precious because it's one of the books that has the most copies printed. Even though it could have been made out of other materials, that would actually be MORE wasteful because it would mean that this person would have to buy more materials when they could just use what they have. Most books end up on landfill anyway so they're avoiding waste.

And we have the power to reproduce books so why is everyone so sad about it ? It made my heart ache to watch the book be destroyed, but I was glad that it was repurposed as something beautiful and useful. At least they did not just destroy it for fun.
