Actually Jason is right on this one. expanding foam and epoxies are both cancer causing while wet. the only reason that they are considered ok to use is because you are never supposed to let them touch your skin and because they are supposed to harden trapping all the cancer causing PCB's and such inside the cured product. So if you think about it all those DIY resin projects on youtube are pretty messed up and very few if any of them take proper precautions. If you get a spray foam insulation of your roof and it does not cure because the ratios were wrong you end up having that whole thing removed by people in hazmat suits you then can rebuild your house with new materials. If you are getting spray foam insulation make sure that insurance for that kind of stuff is in the contract though even if it is you will likely suffer from months of exposure to all the chemicals while you are living in the house and waiting to get the foam and house tested.

We use a silicon rubber extruding machine at work, a 2 part liquid mix. when cleaning it out at the end of the day, you need to purge quite a bit of goo. I got in the habit of filling gloves with it. as you do. EXTREMELY satisfying. I had flat hands, fat hands, hands on a handle, hands on a stick, hands giving the finger, hands giving thumbs up. we also had tyvek suits, and always wanted to do the same, but would have taken years to collect enough (I only used waste, that stuff was expensive. a glove took about a week). so thanks for doing this ^.^ makes me happy

I used to work the foam guns in a warehouse, and it sprayed a stream of the combined mixture. It came out of the gun at ~120f. It gets really hot when it starts to expand.

Would have love to see a cast of Jason (or Eli) being made and used. Would be way more expensive, but you could have reused the changelings head. The "Eli 1.0" on the captions is a nice touch

It should be easy enough to DIY this... Make literal Casts (like broken Arm) that are all two piece with prebuilt... cuts? Then put those over the Suit, Duct Tape them together, they only need to be solid enough to hold for a few minutes til the Foam Sets. Due to the size difference the original...suit would look all kinds of Janky, but could be dressed in something after (Sweat suit).

I was thinking building it like the DIY dressmaking forms- you wear a sacrificial piece of clothing and then have someone wrap you in duct tape, then make as few cuts as possible to get out of the form. a little more duct tape to seal it back up, and then you can fill it with your foam like this one.

@@JD2jr. I was leaning towards a Cast / Plaster of Paris sort of thing, since it wants to expand... But Duct Tape would probably be solid enough, unless the Heat causes a problem for that Adhesive, which is probably something they could figure out, since they recorded it.

Okay so I was struggling to make a head bust the classic plastic wrap, duct tape and spray foam way. Everything was great other than the spray foam. Did it in stages and all that and all that but kept collapsing in on itself. Was about to do it and came across this video. Went to the store bought two bags (only ended up needing one. How much did it weigh overall? I’m thinking if you put more supports around it to guide the foam as it expands, it could make a decent dummy to hold costume pieces as you are working on them. For example, I’m planning on building a set of wings. It would also be a good place to store the larger costume pieces later too.

There cannot be a universe in which this is cheaper than just gluing and shaping large styrofoam blocks. There's definitely more craftsmanship involved, and I suppose a product meant to be buried in the ground is more environmentally friendly than styrofoam, though.
