Hi, an aluminium foil does also the job, I did a card case with it and no NFC signal pass through :)
@wanderinglavender93243 жыл бұрын
Seems like foil would make sounds when handling it, yes, no?? Or bend in wierd ways that would make the leather mess up. Let me know if not, that would be the cheaper way to go.

I understand u want lightweight & flexible for rfid blocker/ Faraday cage, I'll ask you go look for copper sheeting or mesh it's out there & will give better results than S.S. mesh as far as signal interruption/ protection

Radio Frequency IDentification. The "chip" in your credit card. There are hand held devices to read the information contained on the chip. It's becoming the most common form of identity theft.

can you use aluminium foil in place of the steel fabric?
@gregh42843 жыл бұрын
Yes. I found that AF blocks phone signals and library scanners both of which use RFID. I used 2 layers if foil. IDK if one layer works-havent tested 1 layer.

It’s in case of fraud and it can happen but you could also just put cards on top of each other to mess the signal up
@psychalogy3 жыл бұрын
@@RealGalaxyGamers doesn’t work, card readers can just read each different card then. Has happened here with people not taking cards out of their wallets to scan on and off busses. They found they’d been charged multiple times, once on each card they carried, for the same trip. I’d feel more comfortable with the mesh.

Nice video. However, RFID blocking is really a non-issue. In the US, there has never been even one documented case of such a crime, and most credit card companies moved away from RFID technology several years ago.

Ngl i think most people know this, but there's a market for people who do/will buy it anyway, so why not fill the demand :)
@claudiamatteolo14594 жыл бұрын
Pratically leather crafting is repeating the same basic operations over and over, having the proper tools. Anyway this small wallet/bag is unpratical for credit cards and you have to fold your money before to place then in (you risk to drop some as soon you grab the roll)
@Richard_Barnes4 жыл бұрын
Why RFID when there is no threat there? It’s as bad as the Y2K bug we were all supposed to get hit by. Yet another money making scheme by everyone selling RFID gear. LOL. BTW, I love your gear. I still have a Shell #8 wallet from you that I got years ago. Awesome colours running through that #8 Shell. 👊🏻👍🏻😀
