This is amazing! I really buy into the concept that after the revolution matrix participation would become voluntary for humans and many would choose this as opposed to the difficulty of the real world. All the characters are super believable and well written!! The world building reminds me of me of the inception in a really good way. I really really hope someone at WB notices this to Make the show!

That's why the Hobbit turned out the way it did for example. 8 years of planning for LOTR and like 1 year after a director switch for Hobbit. The 4th Matrix was made the way it was because WB said that they'd take it and do whatever they wanted with it, so Lana Wachowski made it an intentional parody/ lampoon of that idea because the story was over in the 3rd movie.

On a second watch, i just now really appreciate how everyone in the Matrix is just living in their on silo Sub-Matrix and only interacting with what they want to. Some of the best sci-fi stories use the fiction to comment on the state of the world right now, and with so much talk about people living in their own ecosystems of news and social media, this feels just right for the times! I would start the show by introducing the storytelling of the First and Second Renaissance from Animatrix. This is crucial due to the nature of the war and its relation to the perspectives of both machines and humans. The approach will be similar to how Peter Jackson presented the lore in The Lord of the Rings. Which also leaves room for entire episode dedicated to the starting of the war told in detail. I love the mysterious nature of the Machines and how they might be thinking, in the movies we see that machines can think individually, Smith and Morpheus interaction, Merovingian ect. (i dont mean that we are shown that the machines are pure good or evil but more how they perceive themselves in a world were they know they are the creation of mankind). For example humans created many architects to optimize every aspect of human life which lead to the architect in the matrix

Great concepts Luke! I can see the scientists being attracted by the opportunity to work at many times the speed of the real world to solve problems there, as well as inhabit constructs where they could test the outcomes of theories and hypotheticals at will, but also being seduced by the bodilessness and opportunity to exist in realms of pure thought and information. I could also see the machines/matrix distorting the reality to steer them in certain directions.

Here's to a future where culture is once again generated by talentted people free to make the stories that they care about. I'm noticing a bit of repetition in the action scenes though - remember that good action scenes are a metaphor of character values, relationships and transformations, just as good plotting is. ie the way characters gain and lose the upper hand should be reflective of their philosophies as much as their strengths and training. The original Matrix (along with IPs like Indiana Jones and Star Wars) are excellent examples of this. Thanks again for sharing your excellent work, it gives us hope that these cultural touchstones can be restored and revitalised again one day soon.

This was really cool and well thought out. Already so much better than that lazy movie of which we shall not speak. It continues the story in a new and interesting way. I remember back in 2003 wondering what the next step would be for this world and you did a great job of capturing that. I love the concept of humanity, when given all this new found power now use it to tap into humanities basest desires. Could totally see that happening. Reminds me of Westworld in a way in that regard. Good work so far.

If Lawrence Fishburne played Morpheus in the Sandman, I'd be alright with that, and for obvious reasons it would make perfect sense, white makeup or no white makeup , I'd prefer that he wore a spiky Goth punk hairdo though. The only challenge I see is how do you translate white words on black Word balloons into a unique audible voice 🤔 ?

OH, BOY! Where do I even begin?! I mean, this “TV series” is ALREADY MUCH BETTER than the regurgitated slop we got with Resurrections. It feels familiar, and yet, it feels unique, because like any great sequel, it builds upon what came before and recontextualizes it in a way that honors the overall lore of the franchise. Everything about this already feels perfect. It has an interesting plot. It has great characters-both old and new. The world-building is fantastic. The many various different Matrices that now exist and encompass and symbolize the many different baseline emotions we humans feel and experience on a daily basis is a VERY BRILLIANT concept. The somewhat tenuous peace that persists between humans and machines is a great idea that I am glad you expounded upon and fleshed out more here, as it was only hinted at in the flashback to the human-machine civil war in Resurrections. While times aren’t as bad as they were during the course of the three Matrix films, they also aren’t necessarily better years after Neo’s sacrifice ended the war between humanity and the machines. And, judging by how this first episode ended, things are about to get a whole lot worse for both sides-and also a lot more interesting. Also, I gotta say that you have some serious stones to kill off Morpheus like that. At least he went out fighting, though. He is my favorite character in the Matrix franchise. I do like how his death wasn’t simply done for shock value, but that it feels as if it will have serious consequences for the main story going forward in this series. It’s also a good explanation for what happened to him between Revolutions and Resurrections. Speaking of, you mentioned in the teaser trailer with one of the taglines that this show takes place between the war and the resurrection. So, will you eventually be doing your own version of “The Matrix: Resurrections”? But, besides that, great work! I hope your channel gets bigger! 👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥

@@JeremyAvis1978 I hear ya. I also think it’s borderline an impossible task to make an action adventure with an 80 year old protagonist compelling and authentic. Not sure if there is a better way to do it. I think a better Idea might have been to take the Creed approach where you have the young enthusiastic new protagonist that takes center stage and Indy kind of comes along, mentoring and training the protege. Couldn’t be Mutt but maybe another one of his associates. I also recognize Phoebe was intended to be that. And she did an okay job with it But fundamentally I don’t think gender swapping was the answer either. One of Sals kids or something could be interesting or bringing short round back. But he’s in his 50s too so it’s a tough nut to crack

Despite being canceled the series toyline did get released & it basically involved all the continuties of the previous Transformers shows From G1,Beast Wars,Animated,Armada, Prime etc. It was a sequel to the netflix WFC show. I figured you could get creative & Include the live action movies as well 😂

Appreciate the critique. Showing vs telling structure doesn’t really apply to treatments. As it is important to place the audience in the world and be efficient with events. It’s important to give the audience all of the necessary context. LOTR does this with their 12 minute lead in, Obi Wan spends 4 minutes giving Luke context for the clone wars and the force, Mr Tomnes tells the children where they are in Narnia and what’s been going on etc. but yes info dumps can be a bit thick when your limited to stills on limited page counts
