We made it to PORT TOWNSEND!! | S2:E11 Sailing Stella J - Island Packet 38

We finished up our journey to Port Townsend without anyone becoming sea sick, WINNING, so its time to show off the boat to the Coho Ho Ho rally group as Port Townsend Rigging hops aboard to take a closer look at things. I sure hope Stella J isn't shy, because today she is front and center!

What has been your experience with the Island Packet chainplate problem? Have you replaced them, or were they replaced in the past? I'm in the process of buying an IP29 so I am curious how it's worked out for you guys. Great videos!

Well Justin, I wouldn't say I've had a problem, yet.. The manual shows the chain plates are glassed in so inspection is near impossible, however the survey showed no moisture and I have read about the reliability of IP's chain plates. Unlike other glassed in chain plates on other boats, say like Tayana's, I have never heard of any IP owners having to cut out and replace their plates. I think you should continue with your IP29 purchase, pending your survey of course, I think you will not regret your decision, just as I have not!! Good Luck!!

What's your planned departure date? I'm also planning to take the left turn in a few weeks. Not part of the koho though

Sorry Master, I haven't been the best lately about responding. I was so worried about the departure to Mexico, all I could do was prepare! To answer you question, we departed Aug 29th and arrived in San Francisco 7 days later. Have you made your trip yet?

@@svstellaj1530 yup, we ended up leaving the same day, we were next to each other for the first 2 days I think, a few miles apart on AIS. Currently anchored in half moon bay. Leaving tomorrow for Santa Cruz. My boats name is Serenity
