Not sure what the Brompton clone scene is like in Thailand but there’s a good store called Tiny Wheels there. Bromptons aren’t cheap in Thailand. That she’s not complaining about being hungry says a lot. Congratulations. Invest in a look behind mirror and use flashing lights at day time. Assuming you’re making your way to Lumpini.

I have done similar to this in the past, but without the folding bikes just a regular bike and literally rode up to the airport and packed it in the entrance. I wrapped it in a big plastic sheet. Wrapped pipe insulation around the frame and taped it up. The whole thing can be a little stressful, but it was generally easy enough.

I took a montague urban folding bike to thailand in the winter of 2017 and cycled from Chang Mai to Bangkok. The urban has 700cc wheels not really ideal for cycle touring but a little easier to transport than a normal bike. I had lots of problems with the spokes breaking and had to replace the wheel from a 32 spoke wheel to 36 wheel spoke.

Congratulations on making it to Bangkok safely. Ultimately efficient packaging of the bikes. Small rectangular pieces of hard plastic were glued inside the box of my bike at the locations of the pointy parts. Maybe one or two additional layers of cardboard work too. Till now you guys were riding on the roads of Japan. Which I will compare it to heaven for cycle riders. Discipline crowd who follows trafic rules, clean and tidy roads with cool climate for long distance riding. On the contrary South Asian and East Asian countries is totally opposite. Tough crowd, poor maintained roads, hellish climate, no one follows traffic rules and heavy pollution. In short, it's hell for two wheeler rider be it motorbike or just cycle. But people living in these cities have no other option but to commute everyday for their livelihood. I am eagerly looking forward to exploring these cities and countryside with you guys. It's going to be a one hell of a ride. Take care guys. 👍

at least you're riding on the left in Thailand just like in Japan... I had a Strida in Thailand and took it on the bus to Laos where everyone was confused as to what it was since when folded they don't look like a bike. I lived in Chiangmai for five years and love it there. Street food in Thai is great too. During the last minute of this video I hear the bird calling.... 'Ka-wow Ka-wow' I miss that sound.

Wonderful. You both arrived safe and sound and everything is intact. Thank you for showing us your first ride. That busy street reminds me a lot of the Philippines with those tiny noisy motorbikes. That constant racket drove me nuts 😜 while there. No let up. And talk about stink. You could cut the pollution, cough, cough, with a knife. Hopefully your experience in Bangkok will be much more enjoyable than mine in Manila.

Hi, just wondering, will it be easier for you to buy hard cover suitcases for the bicycles? Pack it with your clothes and bubble bags. You can push the suitcases onto the train platforms, and suitcases provide better protection than nylon bags with cardboards.

Lumpini Park permits cycling from 10.00-15.00 hrs. only, another park you should explore is Railway Park you can get there by taking the subway (MRT) to Chatuchak station and cycling over to the park. Cycling in Thailand you need to have your wits about you, always stay alert from cars, buses, motorbikes, potholes, etc. When you can, especially with a small wheeled bike, I would suggest riding on the footpath. I think cycling here is probably crazier than in Vietnam, but having said that it hasn't prevented me from enjoying my cycling. Ride safe.

Hello, nice to see your video once again. Since you have possibly encountered other folding bikes, have you been able to compare the Royale with 3sixty or Litepro? I recently got a Mint Trifold Bike, 9 external gears, (it was heavier of what I expected) but I would like to get another one for my wife. Just as an idea, since you ask for it.. what about the extra components for you bike? Do you see the need to change to rough or semi-rough tires? inexpensive front bag?
