We Made Leather Tools from Scratch (With Your Help)
Over the past 3 years, yall have been so supportive watching and helping me develop my new leather crafting tools. We designed, tested, used, and produced samples for almost 3 years with a lot of you testing them out, and I"m proud to say that with the help of my sponsor Buckleguy the solid brass blade holder and the Corter Pounder are now available for sale! I kept the price as low as possible and the quality...it's beyond what I could have dreamed of.
All of the Corter Signature line is designed from scratch in house from the ground up. The tools are drawn by hand, then put into CAD, 3d printed, tested for hand feel, brought into metal samples, tested again, and small production runs are made. They're tested again for about a year...it's a lot of work, but it's worth it. I hope you all enjoy them :)

So Stoked! I bought a 9 tooth 5mm stitching chisel on the first release, for those long stitch lines, and have been looking forward to the 3.85 as I think I actually prefer your stitching irons to my Sinabroks. Beautiful design, and the olive holes make stitching quick and easy. Thanks for all of your hard work!

This is so awesome Eric ! I am really happy for you and your enthusiasm as well as that you poured your heart and soul into this project, as well as everything else you do ! Really cool video description, and explanation of the LONG process to get to this day. Congratulations to you and the entire team. Before you began sponsorship with the Buckle Guy, I heard of them but did not know a lot about them. Since then I have began using them for so much more of my supplies and tools. Their stuff is really good. And I am glad to support the smaller independent guys instead of the big guys. Congrats again !

I purchased the 5mm set of chisels when you released them. I use them the most. Just purchased a blade holder. Been bugging you for years since you first showed a prototype. Can't wait for it to arrive. Nothing is better than a weighty knife for control and comfort. Can I ask a favor? How about a leather sheath for the tip of the knife? Like an axe sheath. Welt and all. For us clumsy people who stick themselves constantly. They do sell No. 2 blade covers (plastic) but I don't think they will fit on the welcome wider body of the knife. BTW, I have been using the same blade in my aluminum holder for months. Strop with white compound before every use. Thanks Eric. These tools are so well thought out there is no question on whether to buy them.

Ooh wow. Just wow. Congratulations on the tools and on your journey. The tools look great and I love the theme of the packages. The idea of someone who uses a tool every day to designe their own best version of said tool - that's just chefs kiss. And for the record: nobody can prove that I might have shed a tear or two! I'm realy happy for you 🎉🎉🎉

These look great! Congrats on your journey. One more tool I need is a small pliers with delryn or non-marring jaws. Now and then, I need a little help to pull a needle through several layers of leather. My metal jawed pliers scratch and sometimes break a needle. More often it is the eye of the needle that breaks, but that’s another ballgame.

Wooooo! Tools! I have awls and groovers and edgers that I've felt comfortable with, but these specific tools have felt off. I really wanted the 5mm 9 tooth - bought the set to match it too. Would buy a 20 tooth too lol. I got the hammer - I've been using this small headed hammer that my grandfather's grandfather brought from Germany, but it's not the exact right shape, only one usable head, and TBH I've been afraid I'll snap the antique wood handle. Knives have also felt slightly off - I think thid weighted one will fix that! So, got me a chisel set, hammer and knife. The acrilic stand looks cool, but I'm going to make a tool stand out of the second half of a cedar log my cousin gave me - the first half made a sword stand. Definitely going to display the boxes though. Anyway, thanks for everything mate! I think this is the last major purchase I'm going to make until I start actually selling things. Got a good feeling :D

I purchased the blade and it’s really nice, but each time I cut, the blade loosens. I tightened with a plier and it’s still loosening on me. Just wanted you to know. Having it replaced is difficult because of stocking.

It’s crap. It’s no different than any other x-acto blade holder except it’s made from brass… big whoop. Ditch it and get an NT cutter pro. It’s much better for leather work
@aprustic_creations
@aprustic_creations 4 ай бұрын
I have the NT Cutter Pro and it’s probably the best blade in my leather tool cart. I bought the Corter blade because I wanted something a little heavier. The other con to this blade is that it rolls off the work area and falls like a dart. Careful ya’ll! This can impale your foot if you’re not paying attention and working fast.
@aprustic_creations
@aprustic_creations 4 ай бұрын
Ya’ll should make this tool with a flat side to it preventing it from rolling.

I get a very fair share of the profit as a royalty - I was actually going to make the hammers myself and offered them to Buckleguy as part of our partnership. They have a bunch of people working round the clock to make this work, so don't worry about me! That's a very kind gesture though :)
