This is my favourite Mario sports game! And as usual, Brent withholds all information on the game until late in the game like the way you can alter your ball’s flight. Speaking of which, here’s some info (in case you missed the N64 video or if you are looking to get the game): 1) As Brent said, while making the swing you need to tilt the control stick to alter the flight. The outline shows how the ball will travel, align the dot to the outline to make that shot. 2) The grid shows the relative zone of where the ball will land, red is higher elevation while blue is lower elevation, white is a flat surface. The blips travelling on the lines show the slope, the faster the blips travel the more the ball will move. 3) The flight path does not take the wind into consideration so you’ll have to adjust accordingly. 4)The red bar under the gauge is the sweet spot for making shots while the blue bar on top shows where the cursor will go for auto shots. Depending on where the ball lands, the club you’re using and the character you play the sweet spot will expand or contract. The blue bar doesn’t change so be careful that you don’t pick auto with a tiny sweet spot. There’s a tutorial section for more in depth information on the game which I recommend.

4:08 Ah Martinet, did great with this game. 15:20 Important lesson : Mind the Impact Zone. The Impact Zone (Red Marker on the bar) dictates if your shot is gonna go the way you want it. If it's in the position as it is now, you'll hit it nice and far. Anything not on that spot, but in the zone, means a slightly worse shot but still doable. On the line of the impact means the worst you can do, but ball will still have decent yardage and be off the ball path. Outside of it means your shot is just terrible. 25:48 If it wasn't raining, that would've went in. The Rain slows down your ball. Good putt though.
