It’s so fun watching her creativeness come to life at such an extreme level (an entire house). And Kate and Joey transforming the house into an actual masterpiece that reflects their new environment. Also, love getting to see little Moon get to help out, I know those are memories he will remember forever, even at such a young age!! I’m with you in some cases! Apartently there’s a difference between “dry” asmr and “wet” asmr, and “wet” (like wet noises, chewing, squishing things) asmr makes me want to throw my phone across the room. I hate it SO MUCH! Luckily Kate did dry asmr in this video so I was able to handle it, but I completely feel you on some of it making your skin crawl!

At first when I saw she was painting the vanity, I was like: "eeeeeeeh idk about this" but the result actually looks pretty cool. The bathroom looks beautiful now! I like the color palette. Yep, I've got you! So, the key to the adhesion is probably actually the sanding of the surface + primer. In the video they use Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 All Surface Primer. The actual paint appears to mostly be from Benjamin Moore, including a mix of Paradise Peach/Peach Blossom (?) and a darker earth tone for the base and Blue Grass (CC-640), Wasabi (AF-430) and 289 Titan Buff Light Amsterdam Acrylic for the 'terrazo effect'. Hope this helps, have a good one!

@@Katie4970 It unfortunately doesn't appear in the video, but if I had to hazard a guess it is likely some sort of faux glaze or resin, to seal the paint in and potentially make it glossier like an actual marble countertop would be. Resin usually requires sanding and polishing, though, so it is more likely to be something like the a glaze from the Benjamin Moore Studio Finishes line, which is made to adhere on the latex paints they've used on the base. The Ben Moore Semi-Gloss (N405) Latex Glaze, for example, is clear, though it technically is meant to be mixed with paint on the top coat, rather than be applied over dry paint! I'm sad to say I can't give you a specific response, this is the best I've got!🙃

Love the bathroom! I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but ASMR actually heightens my anxiety instead of calming it. I absolutely love your content and creativity, and have been following since pre-We Bought A House, but I had to put this on 2x just to watch it. I’m so sorry and I debated even sharing this thought; I don’t want to put down or be negative about any sort of creative risks! I guess I just don’t want anyone who has the same anxious response to ASMR style videos to feel like they’re alone in that experience.

You’re definitely not alone in it, I get so stressed out with stuff like this. I’m glad to see others feel the way I do. I like Mr. Kates channel for her high energy, talkative, music in the background kind of videos so it’s fair to consider this as pretty polarizing to regular content. I also made a comment similar to yours, sort of just giving feedback. I don’t wanna be a downer about new ideas but it’s worth bringing it to her attention not because it’s a bad idea, but rather that it can negatively affect some viewers. Even still, it’s her choice and if she keeps posting these every now and then I’ll just opt out of watching it and keep supporting her other content.
