Many people disliked the scene where Muichiro played with paper airplanes alongside the other members, but I actually quite liked it. First of all, paper airplanes were originally Muichiro's interest (as recorded in the manga), and the paper airplane in this scene has a deep meaning. At this moment, they show the innocence they should have at that age, making it even more apparent how valuable short-lived happiness is. Muichiro also experienced a friendship he had never felt before, as what awaits them is a cruel fate. The animation team cleverly used paper airplanes to highlight Muichiro's interests and the innocent childhood of the team members. Additionally, paper airplanes symbolize dreams that will one day end, hinting at the brevity of life. Birth is taking off, and aging is landing. This is just my personal opinion. I am quite happy that the animation team gave Muichiro more screen time.

Just watched this anime because of the paper planes. I also loved that they made their own paper planes. The only thing is that by folding the end of the wings upwards, you will create drag that pushes the plane downward. That's why the other plane nose dives. I myself am a complete amateur. But love building DIY drones when it comes to paper planes You can’t do that many calculations maybe engineers could, but amateurs like me can't. All aero is based on similar Reynold’s number, Re, the ratio of the mass of air to the viscosity of air. A jet fighter and an airliner fly at similar Re, so the data from one can be used for the other. A paper airplane is so small, there is no data available for them, and you have to do your own experiments. At the small size and slow speed of paper airplanes, the viscosity of air is much more important than the mass of air for a small airplane like a Cessna or even a remote controlled airplane. One of the surprising things about paper airplanes is that some tests showed that smooth paper had more drag from an airfoil section than a coarse paper airfoil section. There is a large community of paper plane makers online, some of them have fascinating paper plane designs.

People who love these characters know how precious some of these chill moments in this arc were. Tengen, Muichiro, Mitsuri. They all have their “fun” moment. I particularly love that if you watch their facial expressions, you’ll see that both Tengen and Tanjiro both put a smile on their face at the end of Tengen’s training ep when the other slayers join in. They had fun that night sparring. Like these characters deserved to have some fun and they did and I love it

Fun fact, the paper airplane scenes weren't in the manga, completely unique to the anime (and Tengen's training was originally 3-4 panels long, but they managed to extend it to a whole 22 minute episode)

I know this episode got mixed reactions but i honestly really loved it. The airplane scene goes on for a bit but its very cute lol, i love wholesome stuff like that between characters. As a manga reader, i also really appreciate how the anime expands on these characters, especially muichiro. On the topic of power ranking the Hashira, i said before in the premiere, but except for Gyomei who is at the top, there is no solid power ranking of the Hashira. There is physical strength, of which we do have a solid list, but thats not the same thing. So that (and a heavy spoiler moment) is why the Sanemi, Obanai, and Mui battle was so controversial

This episode is weird for me. One hand I think it's kinda slowburn and the paper airplane scene was cute but kind of overstayed a bit, and that time could've been given to Shinobu. But given that Muichiro is the only Hashira to do a complete 180 in his personality, I think giving more time with him was a good choice

Actually, I think you both misunderstood when Tokito said "consider that's growth" to that poor demon slayer. In the Japanese version, it was not phrased in a sarcastic way, but it's more of "at least you didn't act blindly or act impulsively" because this slayer was also the same guy who has been tormented by Tokito many times (including the part where he screamed and charged at Tokito) so Tokito meant it sincerely to this guy. That's why I don't really trust English dubs because the original tone, scripts and intentions sometimes tend to be misinterpreted due to the lack of understanding of Japanese culture and living mindsets. Western reactors must understand Japanese mentality in order to understand anime, if not, you guys would just be saying "I don't understand" or "why are they saying this?" It's all about understanding another culture

Here’s the thing about that 2v1 fight with Muichiro vs Sanemi and Obanai. This scene was completely filler as it never happened in the manga (manga is canon) filler is made up plot created by the studio to extend the season longer, the creator of the story hands over the rights for the studio to work with so the creator had no say in this filler fight. based on real fights that happen in later seasons it’s blatantly obvious obanai and Sanemi are out of muichiro league. At this very moment marked muichiro would have lost badly against Sanemi with no mark 1v1. Adding obanai to the fight realistically should’ve been overkill. Which is why a lot of ppl didn’t like that filler scene since it heavily contradicts with their real strengths. But still a cool fight to watch anyway.

@@Dark-Wolf27 So to add onto this, one of the slayers that tanjiro's trio has met, murata. Was in the same final selection as giyuu. You actually see him in EP 2 of this season through giyuu's flasback. Giyuu is 21 so i assume murata is around the same age. So this makes me the slayers range from like 12-20 somethings. I'd say for the slayers in this episode..they might be around muichiro and tanjiro's age, 14-15. (based on how they act i assume this. But i wouldn't blame the older teens and adults for enjoying some paper planes lol.) Though i see some older ones being mixed in since the slayers are going through each hashira. Hope this wasn't too rambly but its what i think is the case here lol.

The duel scene in this is super frustrating. It suggests that Muichiro is stronger than Sanemi and Iguro combined when they on their own are league's above Tokito. Even with the Mark. Muichiro has the most potential, along with Gyomei, but he's still too young and too green to be on their level. I would argue that he's in the lower 4 of the hashira, not the upper 5.

just to remind you, nakimé the demon with the instrument does create the infinity castle but she has been buffed by muzan gifting her more blood allowing her to become one of the 12 kizuke and giving her the other ability. also the moons work so that it is lower if referring to any below 6 so lower 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. and upper for any 6 and above so upper 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
