So I saw this recipe for transparent potato chips on Facebook and thought we had to try them! I wanted to try out a series where I try Facebook food video recipes and see if they're worth it... so I took on the transparent chip recipe! It took Safiya and I like four days to make these clear or glass potato chips but in the end I think we succeeded!

These basically look like potato flavored shrimp chips. Buy shrimp chips from an Asian market and they look like colored versions of the unfried glass potato chips. Once you fry them in hot oil they puff up in the same way. But since they're shrimp flavored I wager those taste a lot better than these. Plus they're way less work.

The lower temp didn’t work cause it just soaked up the oil turning it transparent....which was the goal 😂😂😂 But yeah, if you fry anything at a too-low temp it’s just gonna drink the oil. I am glad y’all attempted this though, this was interesting to watch! Better than sped-up videos that don’t tell ya much! Good job!

Guys! If you enjoyed how it tastes then you can do the same thing with the rice paper that you make rice paper rolls with! It’s essentially the same thing (dried starch paste) and saves you 48 hours lol. Just cut them into whatever shape you want and deep fry!

Reminds me so much of shrimp chips, they come in a plastic bag and they’re transparent (they are coloured pink, green and yellow) and are very hard, so you have to fry them and it puffs up and becomes really light

Lily Vuong umm it's highly unlikely they earn millions from KZbin. They are first of all below a million subscribers, you get paid (as far as I know) for views, view time and advertising. As far as I know these guys aren't sponsored much either so I believe these guys are hard workers on the side with a job or two, renting or early mortage and on KZbin.
