Yeah, I’m from Puerto Rico, and beef heart stew with sauce, potatoes, carrots etc. is a normal dish over here eaten with rice. I’m honestly not fond of it’s flavor, but everyone else in my family loves it.

People are just finicky in many parts of north america. We grew up eating the organs of most farm animals. Tongue, hearts, kidneys, liver etc. Its all really good! I buy my organs at the asian store because even liver is really hard to find at regular grocery stores now. Even if they have organs they are very expensive now.

In Peru we have this dish called Anticucho which is marinated beef heart cut in cubes, poked on a stick and grilled and it's sooooo good. Whenever foreigners visit we tell them it's steak cooked differently or they won't eat it. One time we took an exchange student out and had her eat anticuchos, after she ate them we told her it was made out of beef heart and she didn't believe us until a waiter told her we were right. She filmed me saying that so she had proof it was actual food she actually ate. She said she adored it but would never order it again or would've ordered it in the first place had she known what it was. That basically happens all the time, their loss.
