Cy is learning all the good stuff at an early age, just like I did!!! There is absolutely nothing better than a Dad teaching a son how to do the real life things at a very early age!!! It develops an appreciation of how the world works and how to make it in the world no matter what happens. Fishing is just part of it, I am pretty certain you are teaching the rest of it just as well too!!!! Keep up all the good stuff you are doing. Make a mental note! Draining the lake is a minor speed bump in your life!! You know what to do, how to do it and the draining is not forever. It will seem like it, it will be back and you will see it! At my age I will probably not and that is ok. That is how life works and I wouldn't change it if I were able. Some of my earliest memories of outdoor activity, especially fishing are in and around that lake. Ha ha, my Grandfather won a flat bottom boat and motor in a contest there when I was 4 years old!!!! I am now 68. I have caught more Bluegill there than anywhere else. I used to take my Mom fishing! You would die laughing watching her calling the fish!!! HERE FISHY FISHY!!! LOL. You have a lot of forever life memories there, you will have more!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE you and your family and the memories you are making.

Absolutely the greatest family times you could want for you JJ and those precious kids. My fondest memories of my Dad and Grandpa was when we were on a fishing trip. And my Mom and Grandma when they were cooking up those catfish and making cornbread and mustard potato salad. You are blessed.

Have you guys and your neighbors talked if you're going to do anything with the lake? Hollow tree pieces can be hauled out there help catfish spawn anyway. Put out cypress trees, mark channels create windbreaker? Request forestry and d.n.r. assistance to dredge out a deeper channel??? Even build islands with dredged soil. And plant mayhaws, if done right makes a delicious jelly. Just curious, Arkansas has the resources to make it a better lake being it's already going to be drained. If you guys have well water, heads up it might run out.

Take it from an old timer, those special days will live in your heart forever. Great to see such a huge smile on Jay's face again. Some of my earliest memories are fishing with my grandpa seventy years ago on a hidden farm pond in Michigan. We were catching slab-sided bluegills and nice size perch on light tackle almost as fast as we could reel them in using live crickets as bait. I was four years old and my brother was six. Great job on the video, Jacob.

I'm really sorry that the lake is being drained. Hopefully, better things are yet to come! Change has to be good, because the world is constantly changing around all of us every day. My Mom, God rest her soul, didn't like change. When I would tell her it had to be good, she'd ask why. I told her that I believed that God intends it that way to keep us all on our toes. What did I know? I was a teenager. She'd kiss my forehead and say, "Ok. I'm good with that."

I always like to watch your videos. The large catfish was just about as big as Cypress is. Cypress is smart! I know about fishing for catfish--have done that often when I was younger. I have been jugging for catfish but not limb-lining as that is illegal where (I have fished. Love to see you all (well not Summer just yet) outdoors fishing together. Hey one of your videos you should show us how you hold your cast net and how you throw it. I have one and I used to throw it all the time and I was good at it then I didn't go fishing for about 10 years and kind of forgot how. I did catch some bait with that last time I threw it but it wasn't pretty. Lol felt like I was doing something wrong
