It's such a joy watching you two work together knocking out your projects. You finished up the goat pens just in time for Lily. They look great and I'm certain she will like it very much. I'm excited and really looking forward to seeing the kids! They will be so cute. I'll second the suggestion of family pictures on the wall - that's a great idea. Until next time. The first thing I noticed while watching you erect the "fences" of the back corner pen was that the goats in that pen, when they rub up against the rails or butt them, they will be loosening the rails because they will be hitting in the direction of taking the nails out instead of knocking them in, as should be the case. A second layer of rails might be advisable. Otherwise, I like what you are doing and hope it all works out the way you want.

Baby goats are REALLY TINY and the dividers do not fulfill their purpose. To maintain their VISUAL value AND protect from meat eating smaller predators I recommend stapling wire mesh with 2" spaces on the INSIDE of your pens. This will offer protection for your animals and deter predators. Hungry predators need to be kept OUT , especially in the winter. Also try to build the barn to keep them out !!

I can tell you what I did to solve the critters from reaching freedom off feeders. I took some 3/4” EMT cut it down to about 2’ sections and built a frame with 2x used a Forstner bit to countersink the EMT top and bottom. A little jail you could say! But your pallet idea works in a pinch😅

I really like the way you have the table saw set up. Certainly more stable and a good height when on the tractor forks. I also like the different types of wood in the pens, they sort of match the different style of the outside. I think you now need a garden sized tractor to be called the goat tractor for working in the stalls area. Good luck with the watch dog training and enjoy your "Night Out". Take care, jack

All that litter in the pens will make some very good filler for raised beds in 18 months or so. Even before that, say next spring, it will already be good mulch because the rain will wash all the nutrients into the soil for the veggies and provide heat protection during the hot summer months. Working WITH nature and not against nature IS ALWAYS the best thing to do.

If you’re going to be using the goats for milk, you need to have the boys FAR away from the girls. For some reason they make the goat milk sour! I watch Jordan and Kaylee’s channel “The Nomadic Movement” and they raise goats! The baby goats are so adorable. 🥰❤️

That blue bucket you got from Amazon is what they use on elevator legs to move grain or other products. I worked in a seed plant for 42 years and repurposed many of those for other uses. Now you have the outside pens to build😅 love your videos.

Katie, if you can find a grain elevator that is replacing their cups, ask if you could have their old ones. They are bigger than those you have, I believe and better yet, possibly free. Usually when they replace the belts they also replace the cups. I found one of our grain elevators that gave away theirs, free. I use them in my garage. Nice storage bins and definitely would be helpful for the animals.

I don't understand why people lay out their barns in a way they can't use the tractor to dig out the stalls. You've basically just built your way into hand shoveling stalls for the for seeable future. It looks great and you obviously have a lot more time and energy for manual chores than I do..lol.
