I visited Elmina Castle in Ghana almost 11 years ago and I'll never forget the experience. I'm British and have Jamaican heritage. I felt sad, angry, broken but also felt so empowered. My ancestors were incredible. I have their strength in my blood. They went through that and then slavery and survived... I can do anything! ♥️

I went to that slave castle at 4 years old with my mom. Even then it was super powerful and it breaks my heart to know the suffering that took place there.
