I really appreciated John Chu's comment about how CRA is just one story and it's to crack the door open for even BETTER more diverse stories about different Asian representation. And he's right, technically there are 6 different movies with asian leads that aren't greenlit until this does well. :(

Agreed. CRA is just a stepping stone for our community in the entertainment industry :)

Yeah, I definitely wanna see fantasy movies with Asian Americans, maybe even Black/Asian couples, maybe slice of life and horror starring Asian Americans, CRA is just whetting my appetite for more. All of us are yearning for it

OH snap if anything, Timothy DeLaghetto and his wife would be perfect for the blasian couple centric movie. Wouldn't be surprised if he were to be in that kind of movie down the road

@@WHOOPtheresheIs Yup! When I saw Black Panther and they had those scenes in Korea, I freaked out! I'm not even Korean, but it brought the superhero, Wakanda fantasy to a real country I'm at least familiar with. I grew up around lots Korean friends and hearing Lupita speak Korean was so cool. And let's not forget, she was raised in Mexico and speaks Spanish. The world is more connected than portrayed by Hollywood, and I think there were some nods to that in both productions.

I watched the movie yesterday at an early showing and i was beyond impressed!! It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Joy Luck Club came out before I was born so this is the first Asian centered Hollywood movie I've been able to enjoy in theaters. Side Note: Fung Bros, I wish this video was published a day earlier b/c then I would have looked out for you guys during the scene. Jimmy O Yang always sells himself short. He’s not an unattractive guy. He’s actually kinda cute. Plus his humour makes him like 5x cuter. Humour always enhances a guy’s looks. I am not Asian, but I have had a deep connection with the Philippines since I was lived there and imbibed the culture, food and Tagalog. And I was very impressed with Crazy Rich Asians in tackling the things that it did. It was successful in its own rite. It was not just “oh, I am excited they made an all-Asian lead cast” it was that “this was a great movie that addressed some interesting cultural issues.” Sure, there are more things to be explored, but this was a step in the right direction. Like John Chu said, this would crack the door open to allow more Asian representation and stories to occur. I have noticed that Hollywood is opening the door more and more for non-stereotypical relatable Asian characters and this is a moment to be proud of, even if it did not address everything.

This was a sick video and I'm hella happy ya'll made appearances in the film. No doubt you guys will be in more. What Jon Chu said was on point. What Henry said was on point - it's so true that hapas deserve representation as an asian because most hapas are stuck in between worlds and many that I know struggle with acceptance and identity. Hapas are just as asian as any asian out there. Everyone on set was keeping it real. Thanks for providing us a glimpse into the set bts guys!

this was really cool, great job as usual, nelson was amazing, you can tell he really enjoyed this project, his passion for the project is really cool. the interviews with the cast is really awesome, all really positive, and focus on appreciation for all people no matter the race or culture, which is a great message for all to constantly hear. even in asian communities the divide that is man made by way of putting emphasis on difference cause people to start think of clicking up, and creating issues. the only difference should be good or bad, that’s it. no matter where your from, how you look, all that matters is your a good person. the west has easily created a divide which stopped the east from seeing it method of operation when conquering the east. this is how serious it is. that divide can take down a world, a galaxy, a universe. this episode is good, promoting appreciation for all and leading people down the right path and the right mentality to have should be a constant influence. this is needed for sure. Big fan of michele yeoh…
