You are a master! You are pushing the market, boats have been stuck in design and materials for years. It is unbelievable how far you have come with your boat ideas and accomplishments in just a few years.

Thank you for doing this. I got the same boat and been trying to get ideas for a deck that looks good unlike my ply wood thrown on top. Perfect timing too because I’m about to redo it. When I get home from this hitch.

Those little plastic boats are unbelievably stable. I take an 8 footer out out on a bigger lake(225,000 acres) with traffic and it does great. If you want to get out on the water cheap, one of these and a trolling motor with a battery can get you there.

if you put 2 8ft irrigation white pipes and mount them on the sides acting like 2 smaller pontoon's. It will be so stable that standing up will be no problem. From builds i have done in the past I realized the higher you are in the boat obviously the rocker it gets. it does make a little drag in the water but seeing that this is for your son it's something looking into that boat will not tip over
@TinyBoatNation2 жыл бұрын
IT doesn't need it. It's a true 48" width. It's stable enough.

I appreciate it, because we were literally able to buy one at an estate sale for $40. Meanwhile, guy in neighborhood has a 1548 Alweld that he wants $2500, no trailer, no outboard, just bare. I can’t even find a 1236 flat bottom in a 100mi radius for under $800

Mini Boat Nation... You can make anything look good. If all I wanted was a little pond hopper this would be it. (But I'll stick with my 14' aluminum Bass Ugly V-bottom). Can't wait to see the completed project.

how did u fasten the deck to the boat? i noticed some screws along the top edge. dont you think they will strip out or leak? i am doing a similar project on the same boat. was thinking of using well nuts to keep it from shifting. thanks for any input on how you did yours!

That's what happens when you leave the plugs x 2 in when it's hot. Temp differences make it contract or expand like a balloon. I freaked the first time it happened to my boat.
