Love Costa Rica have been there a few times, the last time I visited I stayed for almost 3 months. If you are at all into Costa Rican wildlife and conservation, I could not recommend Toucan Rescue Ranch enough in San Josecito, Heredia. Amazing spot to learn all about wildlife conservation efforts in CR and all the different species that live there. I volunteered there for a while before starting vet school and can’t wait to go back

4:46 is called pejibaye, you have to cook it in boiling water, and normally we eat it with mayonnaise, and you can do a creme too. And is normally eaten at coffee time

Delica or L300 are a mix between 4wd and vans! Might be a bit hard to get in Costa Rica though, they are made in Japan, with a few exports to the US and Australia. Also expensive to maintain.

You mentioned wanting an off-road "4x4 van" check the nomad hook family with their hookmobile (they are Swiss and speak french) they have a 4x4 pickup set up with a cell over the back platform which allows them ton live in it quite comfortably with their dog and baby.

They are very popular cars in Australia for camping and off-roading. You aven fit the car out with draw systems and a pop-up roof and sleep in the car. There are so many designs and ways to camp comfortably in a car it's just a lot more compact.

The Dino thing is because Jurassic Park was based in Costa Rica! they embraced it LOL. Also the cloud forests are super dangerous to drive in, in the rainy season because the water will just RANDOMLY start waterfalling off the side of the mountain on the road as you're diving. it was scary lol

I too would love to know if there is an off-roading van. Of course you can get a Sprinter 4x4 but it’s not the same. Seeing what the Land Cruiser can do (and I’m sure we’ll see what it can survive and it’s limitations in the next video) is enticing.

the bus is still in the US waiting for them to get back in to the country, the Van is driving from Bulgaria to the UK by louis parents :)
