What you both are saying is very accurate, U.K. is becoming hard and depressing. I found back home the hospitality of people is beautiful where most people there are genuinely friendly, unlike the U.K. most people are not friendly. You smile or say good morning they will look at you strangely.

Though the cost of living is low relative to that of the western world, the currency matters in that most people in Ghana get paid in the local currency which matches to that cost of living. So, only people who get paid in USD or POUND (or really any other currency of higher value) while living in Ghana will find Ghana "inexpensive " because of that currency factor. But for the locals, it is a different story.

i get wha you're trying to say but u said it wrong. It doesnt matter in what currency you earn but rather the equivalence. If you're paid in cedis but equivalent to the payment in europe you'll be good. But if you're paid in euros or pounds equivalent to the normal Ghanaian then thats a big issue lol

Wonderful! I’ve just subscribed. Wish you all the best in Ghana. It’s so interesting that young people in their 20s and 30s born overseas are returning whilst the older generation remain in the diaspora! You see you guys don’t know what it was like growing up in the 80s in Ghana - HARDSHIPS. Even university professors like my dad couldn’t put food on the table for their children. Now here we are, Ghana has changed so much and the best is yet to come with bright young determined people like you back in the country. Ps your kids are SO beautiful.

Love you guys already!!! You are so cute😍. I moved to Ghana in 2013 for a year and I eventually stayed for almost 3,5years. I met my husband there who was also a returnee and we are currently back in Europe and working out when and how to plan our relocation. I’m interested to hear that cost of living was a main reason for you guys to move there. That was actually one of the main reasons we moved back to Europe. I found that unless you are making money in foreign exchange or have an expat job the salary there just does not cover, school fees, holidays, health care and all the other things I was used to as a “foreigner”. I’ll be watching you page and looking forward to hear more! By the way I have a channel too so feel free to show me some love😊

Thank you so much for watching! It's good to hear of other peoples stories! We completely understand what you mean! There are so many factors that come to play like where you live, money you moved to Ghana with, how you earn money in Ghana and lifestyle choice which all come into play, so everyone has their own experience. I guess as we carry on with this journey we will find out more about the REAL 'cost of living'. 😊❤

I think Londoners would find Ghana cheap because London is really expensive. I live in Birmingham UK and I wouldn’t be able to afford to Iive in London. Ghanaians definitely view anyone who moves to Ghana from Europe as foreign but we feel foreign in Europe so it all depends on what’s important.

Hi, guys welcome to the motherland. For international schools, you can also check on Liberty American School in East Legon. It a great school and a beautiful one with great facilities. They use the American curriculum which is the AP Common Core standards and a candidate for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP).
@gh_blaqsoap28464 жыл бұрын
That's why we are not developing! The curriculum is looking outwards, instead of being structured to solve local salient issues. That's my frustration with 'international' schools in Gh. Looks like we black folks do not have a mind of our own.
@ernestasare26464 жыл бұрын
@@gh_blaqsoap2846 that is never the case please. With most international curriculum you are made to think locally but act globally and it is by choice. We are still keeping our own. Ghanaian schools are more than international schools numberwise. If you will want to be absorbed easily into the foreign systems to work and continue your education there, you will need these types of curriculums. Thank you
@gh_blaqsoap28464 жыл бұрын
@@ernestasare2646 Oh yeah, I know it's by choice and of course, affordability, right? But the fact that they can easily be absorbed into the foreign system to continue education/work actually proves my point. I doubt China for instance had so many 'international' schools as we do in Gh., whiles laying the foundation for industralization.
@ernestasare26464 жыл бұрын
@@gh_blaqsoap2846 The world is a global village now, we need them they need us most of our doctor's, engineers and others were trained outside Africa. Yes Africa boasts of resources and agriculture but technology has advanced in the west and we need it as well. Sorry I am dragging this I get your point but mine also does makes sense right? They come here, learn, and go and so we do also have that privilege and some are coming home with what they have learnt there. All is well
