Yes! The first Starcom was a great game. The writing for all the text was clearly done by a lifelong sci-fi fan who knew how to laugh at all the tropes even as they did it as a love letter to sci-fi.

I played this game all the way through and loved it. Only tip I'll give is pay close attention to some item descriptions and npc dialogue. I missed some useful info because I skim read things

Bit late to the party here, but, on another streamer's look at this, he figure out that boosting weapon *range* and projectile speed was the ideal solution to many problems :D

is "everything" farmable? like each resource? RP? I haven't got far yet. but if some resources are finite then that could be problematic.

I've found two locations that regenerate resources, one sends some to your homebase and another is a mine that can be collected from that will reset each time you return home.

Stuff respawns as Andy says some places have fields that respawn often so good to farm in

It isn't Starsector. It has some similarities but so do a lot of space games. I enjoyed both for different reasons

Its a solo ship with no colony management so not really like starsector other than being set in space

It's more similar to Space, Pirates & Zombies but without the fleet management. It's a decent game.
