King piccolo is piccolos father and a villain in the original dragon ball series (1989). They kept calling Lord slug king piccolo cause in the in the original dragon ball he was the evil half of earths guardian Kami and ended up making a wish with the dragon balls to be returned to the prime of his youth, which is what basically lord slug did 😂 Also king piccolo ended up killing master roshi chaotsu and krillin in the process and piccolo had gohan whistle because Namikians have a high tensed sense of hearing, lord slug having giant ears is why it crippled him

I also noticed only just now that Goku doing the Kaio-ken and charging right through Slug might be a reference to Goku doing the same thing to King Piccolo

HFIL stands for “Home For Infinite Losers.” Back when Dragonball Z aired in the US, it was heavily censored to the point that death could not be mentioned at all. So when Goku died and met the two ogres in hell, the word “HELL” on their t-shirts was not allowed, so the word was modified to “HFIL.” It became a running joke in the DBZ fandom, to the point where Team Four Star turned it into a series after they finished with DBZ Abridged.

The reason piccolo looks old despite being hatched not too long ago, is because kid goku beat the original piccolo who called himself a king, he wouldn't accept the loss so he rencarnated himself by throwing up himself in an egg before death, its not explained how it works tho especially the memories but they're the same person. Thats why he grew into an adult so quickly without losing life experience

Namekian ears are very good, they have excellent hearing. Human whistling, however, is very painful. That's why Piccolo yelled at Gohan back at the waterfall, why Nail was very uncomfortable, and why both Piccolo and Kami likened it to the sound of a cat being tortured. It's also why Piccolo ripped his ears off before having Gohan whistle again. Slug didn't know about human (well, half Saiyan, half human) whistling.

So King Piccolo was the final bad guy from the OG dragonball anime. The joke was Slug was basically doing the same thing he did wishing for youth and trying to conquer the world. The thing is his wish shouldn't have worked since the Dragon can't grant the same wish more then once. Maybe since someone else asked for the wish it might have been allowed but more likely it was a mistake made by whoever wrote the script for the movie

Lord Slug's wish is not the same as King Piccolo's wish, since they were to return the youth of 2 different persons.

Tbh I’ve always felt TFS did a bad job at properly explaining what Piccolo did there at end and why he did it… I feel like 90% (if not more) of the people I’ve watched react to this were lost/confused on what happened there. Side note: I was gonna give a brief explanation of what happened just in case but I’m sure you’ve already gotten multiple a comment explaining it by now(if not multiple comments doing so) lol so there’s probably no need to.
