Booker is exactly right me, and my brothers talk about this all the time, about the nwo is, if they had to kept it just to a solid, maybe 6 members, they'd probably still be around dx, was smart, Billy Gunn talked about it too like NWO had over 4050 guys. On a team that was pretty much half of the roster. Everybody wanted to be a part of the NWO for no. Reason, but exposure to a degree, it nearly did kill WCW he's absolutely right, and you look at WCW at that time, look at all the different factions of NWo, you had the NWO the originals. NWO 2000, NWO wolfpack. LWO came out of that it was ridiculous
@jonathanturbide2232
@jonathanturbide2232 2 ай бұрын
Then you and your brothers are absolutely clueless and clearly don't understand the nWo storyline at all. The nWo wasn't a typical wrestling stable, their goal was to destroy WCW and replace it as the main organization, that's why they were recruiting as many members as possible -- you can't take over an entire promotion with only 4 or 6 guys, they needed an army, and that's why they got as many members as possible. You clearly don't understand the storyline at all. 🤷🏼‍♂️
@ajsgaming83
@ajsgaming83 2 ай бұрын
@@jonathanturbide2232 but thats what killed it, espicelly having jobbers and midcarders in the group, the storyline was wrong and it was a bad choice by Eric ta go down that road.
@ICE_1212
@ICE_1212 2 ай бұрын
@@jonathanturbide2232 you're still not getting it, the "storyline" was the problem. You cant have the entire roster in a faction, and the faction is all heels. They killed the babyfaces in the company because the nwo members were the "cool" ones. AEW is actually dangerously close to doing this same exact thing with their jon moxley aew takeover storyline
@TheMtVernonKid
@TheMtVernonKid 2 ай бұрын
@jonathanturbide2232 first of all, no, because how many guys were there on the NWO how many it became more about that bran, then the company and everything Booker said is true. You don't get it. Everybody wanted to be a part of it for no particular reason. It was stupid if they had a kept it. Just the originals, Hogan Nash Ted dbiosi, who was the money and a few maybe a few 2 others. Yeah, it would have been okay, but when you start adding different versions, different factors of the same brand it nearly killed it. Now you're bringing up, what's going on with John Moxley, AEW as of right now if it stays that core right there. Yeah, it's fine, but if they keep adding more members or over and over and over, then it's gonna become just like what happened in WCW, and we don't know what's going on really with that. So with all due respect, please don't don't try to sugar coat it or try to explain it or try to disinvalue what these men are saying or anybody who agrees with them

QUESTION for Taker: I just celebrated 2 year sober n have turned life around. Every year I watch the famous Eddie Guerrero addiction promo on 2005 smackdown. Were you back stage for this? The problem with the NWO is that they wanted to recreated that initial surprise turn with Hogan so it became a "who will join them next" gag, and eventually you run out of stars who can join and you're left with no one on the other side. If they stopped to think longer term after the initial success maybe they could've kept it going but then it wouldn't be WCW

Not the Black and White version, but the Red and Black, the Wolfpack, I think Booker would have fit. Definitely more than some they dragged in. As they said though, who wasn't in the NWO? The fact that Booker wasn't probably made him a viable option for the short run he got at the end of the WCW. People weren't sick of him and he obviously had all the assets that made him successful later in the WWE as well.

I remember when they randomly just broke up Harlem Heat for no reason at all. Stevie Ray just joined the nWo without any reason whatsoever

Funny thing is…. The Undertaker character wasn’t kiddy at all! It was done by Mark so well that… the eye rolling, the rising up, the rest in peace pin… it’s what it is! Belief in real world rules suspended! The AmericanBadass was fun and CultDeathLeader with the robes and his apocalypse horsemen Bradshaw and Simmons APL was real! He was always adult! Even as a TwinTower! Agile and big and strong and the heart punch!! By the way Mark is the only wrestler that used a punch as a finisher! To the chest…. Roman show’d up a pinch over 30 years with the Superman punch

In hindsight it was all downhill for WCW once they took the world title off Goldberg, kept it away from him and the nWo Hollywood vs. Wolfpac's pay off was them merging. Goldberg as world champion and the nWo civil war was the last two hottest and developed things they had after fumbling Sting.
