Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

With my tin foil hat on, I suspect a bit different crisis. The large internet outage in the west as it kinda looks like they could've done test runs. It'll be a massive "failed" update or perhaps like WEF says a worm. First CrowdStrike and two days ago Denmark 🤔 Maybe it isn't even by design but just a matter of time. Cyberattacks between countries and organizations happen all the time. One of the results of tech boom is too many people got hired. Tech is not secure at all as its often written by people with low skills but high pay. The systems are built like a swiss cheese. Full of holes. A lot of talk about security but too many cooks. Now you have AI that helps to find these vulnerabilities of course both ways for defence and attacks. Couple weeks of internet outage would be very serious. The bare minimum everyone can do is just always have some canned food or pasta etc. for emergencies that allows you to survive a longer period at home. And why would it be by design... I guess like how certain virus just happend conveniently when economy/economies were weakening. WEFs been beating the drum about cyberattack danger of a worm and even doing simulations. Guess who'd be the designer of that worm then. But I don't want to scary anybody too much. Afterall I have my tin foil hat on. Just be friendly to your neighbors. Have extra food, cash and if that were to happen, stay positive and don't lose your humor. Humankind could even use a bit reminder what it is to be human without all this tech. As a opposing argument one can say Y2K was supposed to happen and it didn't. But always good to be prepared. Just imagine what you'd need if there was no access to food, internet, even electricity so that if some day that happened you're not helpless and vulnerable.

Hypothetically, if the Federal Reserve was absorbed by the Treasury, would this mean the Treasury (Fed Govt) would no longer have outstanding debt obligations other than Treasury notes held by private citizens, corporations, and foreign central banks? Could this not be achieved under the existing monetary system through the Federal Reserve waiving debt obligations of the Federal Government by removing Treasury Bills from their balance sheet or alternatively holding same debt but on an interest free basis. If the Fed can create reserves (money) surely they can cancel debt. What am I missing?
