I love how the Yogscast somehow has the collective belief that _being liquid_ is the property which makes materials conduct electricity 😂 (to clarify for anyone who isn't aware, which I don't think there should be any shame in (particularly if it's been a while since school), that's not the case; the presence of charged particles like free electrons in metals, or dissolved salts which can move around (and therefore conduct a current) in things like rain or tap water, are what makes things conductive. Lewis having a literal masters in chemistry, though... should probably have known that 😂)

PSA from an electrical person to clarify the grounding conversation: TOUCHING A LIVE WIRE WHILE GROUNDED IS BAD. You need to be INSULATED from ground, aka, not touching it, to be more safe from the electricity. If you're touching ground, then you will complete the circuit and electricity will go through you. Not only will you die, it will hurt the whole time you're dying.

Kite surfing can be extremely dangerous, and older members of my family have lost multiple friends who’s kite caught a gust of wind or did something erratic. They get carried so far up so fast they don’t have time to unlatch, and the subsequent fall killed them on impact or injured them enough that they drowned. That was 2-3 decades ago, so I imagine things are less dangerous with advances in safety tech. I also remember them not being particularly safe about avoiding adverse weather conditions.

14:00 - No, no, no, no, no, no! You don't want to be grounded when working with anything electrical. Exactly the opposite, you want to be insulated as far from electrical ground as you can be. If you're grounded, then you become the shortcut in the circuit and the electricity will discharge through you, shocking you, instead of going where it was meant to be going! The exception to this is static electricity, where being grounded allows you to continually discharge, therefore preventing any static build-up and potential shocks - but that's the exception, not the rule!
