We NEED to LEAVE NOW! Before It's Too Late! Narrowboat Cruise to Hartshill - 481

Today is the day we finally leave the beloved Ashby Canal, a few days early actually, as the extremely long Ashby Canal pound that stretches for over 30 miles is getting very low and with the canal being extremely shallow as it is, it was becoming very difficult to navigate, at this point. So we decided to get off before it was too late and the canal was closed, due to lack of water. But we were quite far from the nearest lock at Atherstone. So today we're set off from Springbank Farm, head through Hinkcley on our narrowboat, and onwards to the Coventry canal at Nuneaton and once on there, we continue to Hartshill.

Shame they have to build so many houses along the edge of the canals these days they should leave a green belt either side of the canals for wildlife I think

The Wild West Coventry Canal! Last yr the Anchor pub was ransacked by gypsies, and my 1st hartshill mooring had gypsies threaten us by pretending to be police! xxx
