HELLO EVERYONE! Slight correction: its been confirmed that the Chris Barnes Facebook account does not actually belong to him, and thus Barnes himself did not say "every death metal singer sucks except for me". ...HOWEVER, Barnes at the very least does not entirely disapprove of the statement, as he has yet to truly comment on the matter. It's fair to assume he has no real issue with the statement itself, especially when considering the rest of the information surrounding this controversy. Therefore I still stand behind everything I said in this video. Cheers.

I say more power to him for sticking to his guns and telling it like he sees it and not bending for all of these dicks (like the one in the kitchen with the bandana on, above). I mean, think what you're doing. You're all saying 'You don't like all the singers I like so you are a fucking asshole. Isn't he Kevin, Richard, Corey and George'?! The truth of the Matter is while I prefer the older styling of death metal, death metal and deathcore vocalists in particular are objectively better nowadays. The old style of vocalists had that stereotypical cookie monster style now they have much stronger and more controlled guttural approaches and stronger in just about every style of death metal vocals due in a big way to a far more trained approach, maybe with the exception being John Tardy and Chuck Schuldiner who very much had there own style and strong vocals anyway back when death metal was in its infancy anyway. And for Chris Barnes of all people to come out with this is insane, has he not listened to himself over the past few six feet under albums, he's not only the worst vocalist in death metal but probably any other genre of music period. I meen this is just an opinion so it's completely subjective some of my thoughts, but what isn't subjective is that his vocals are done

Boomer? I'm not almost 70 years old twerp. I was a kid back when Death Metal was a thing in the early 90's it was over before the end of the century a lot of the bands broke up but they eventually got back together you don't understand I understand what he's saying because it is true what Barnes feels there's a bunch of bands that sound like old band nowadays literally and people think it's cool no it's not it's trash like what's that one band I don't even I heard him like oh this is baby bolt thrower Frozen something I forget I don't even care it's over the only ones that deserve respect to the ones from back in the day that started it out that did it that made it a thing it's just watered down and it's beyond generic nowadays way past running its course it's garbage it ain't like back in the day but that's the way it goes.

I was all about death metal when it was a thing back in the early 90s it was new it was exciting it was fresh it was pushed to the limit they pushed the envelope to the limit to the extreme I was all about it I was a '90s death metal kid I still am I only like the old dudes that's it nobody else. Why? Because that's just the way the wind blows that's the way it is. I still listen to butchered at birth here and there I still listen to the old records in my car right now in the CD player I got false by Gorefest! I don't give a fuck about anything else , but the bands that I grew up with now I love all forms of metal well not every form but all the old school stuff like that the stuff I was raised on cuz of my dad he's an old metal head from the seventies early eighties and I latched on to my era of metal which was death metal when I was a kid. I don't like anything else I don't like the new bands I don't like anything about them I think they're tacky and tasteless generic and that's my honest opinion

The comment by Chris Barnes "every death metal vocalist ducks except for me" was from a fake chest Barnes FB account. He never said that. But I agree with everything else you said.

Very few metal bands are edgy these days. I agree with Barnes, the modern metal "scene" is a bunch of safe SJW cry babies.

Two things: 1. You're feeding a troll that's trying too hard to remain unforgotten in a modern death-metal scene. 2. Honestly man, why do you give a shit? Just play/listen to the music you like and, in your words to Chris Barnes, "sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up." His viewpoints aren't changing anything. It is literally not that serious to where a video rant is needed lol

You do realize that the next SFU is gonna be full of "f#ck the haters" songs, right? Or, he's gonna put out a bunch of Falling In Reverse covers. Which is basically the same thing. No. Wait...

Honestly he's too spineless for that lmao, like he's been stirring the shit pot for years and has yet to pull something like that. Though the idea of a Falling In Reverse cover would be fucking hilariously cringe, a part of me wants to see that play out...

Chris Barnes aside, what doesn't change stagnates, and whether or not any of us like the direction it takes it will change anyway. That's why past music is called "old school". Once, old school was the new school and everyone was up in arms about the direction it was headed, and we were the young ones saying "If it's too loud you're too old". Are we really going to emulate our parents now? "Grumble, grumble, kids these days..." No amount of fighting against change is gonna stop it so why not just listen to what you like and leave them the fuck alone to like what they like? That being said, everyone knows Chris Barnes has been a dick for 20+ years now. People fuck with dicks. Enough said.

The most stupid part about this video is that all those other extreme death metal bands wouldn`t exist without Cannibal Corpse in the BARNES era. They were the first band that made death metal almost popular. After Barnes left, Cannibal went more into their instruments, experimenting, and no matter how good they still are, they lack the poetry and groove that Barnes brought. Tomb of the mutilated had the most brutal death metal voice you can hear. Since 1992. Beat that, and express yourself on the matter after.
@themetalmeltdownofficial2 жыл бұрын
That argument really only works if you ignore the financial success of bands like Deicide, Obituary, and Morbid Angel - all bands collectively released 4 of the best-selling death metal albums of all time, and did so BEFORE Cannibal Corpse's biggest commercial hit "The Bleeding" (which believe it or not is the 5th best selling death metal album of all time 🤷♀️).
