Honestly, Ben & Camille, I love these kind of videos when they appear in my travel vlogs. You show off that you're just like many of us--human. And this is one of my favs. Of course, it's probably because we've rescued two cats ourselves and, while watching your video, my cat, Peyton, was sleeping on me. I still recall finding her just about 2 weeks old, having been abandoned by her mother, so you're video hit me in the feels. Now I truly understand why we see so much of her in your IG posts--keep them coming! Great video...keep them coming! Rob (& Peyton! 🐱)

5 seconds in and we already love this video. We were in that exact place last year, we loved Chania. Those cats!!!!! Ok, a minute or so in now and we’re sad!!! I think we’d have done the same with feeding the cats. We did the same in Ibiza, but you’re right, maybe not the best thing to do. The monasteries are stunning, but that little kitten you left behind!!!! Go the king of cats!!!! Rosemary Sprigs….euthanasia? No way!!! Zilke is a hero! How beautiful is Rosemary?! Ah Ben and Camille, this has been our favourite video in ages, we will donate too. We miss our 2 Ginger lads, but this video has been great. Nice one both!! X

Thanks so much! This is also our favourite video, but didn't perform well, so it's so nice to hear you liked it. :)

I am an Australian and have donated monthly to two Crete animal Shelters for over two years. Takis Shelter in Ierapetra, Crete is an excellent animal Shelter. The other, also in Ierapetra, Crete is Jutta Shelter and is also excellent. Please do something permanent and worthwhile in Crete for animals.

As a cat person, this was hard to watch but good to digest. Cats are really neglected because they can go feral so much quicker than a dog. I am glad you rescued the ginger!❤

Thanks so much! This is true. Rosemary is a little spicy because she didn't have much human socialisation within the 4 month window.

Great video. I ve saved a kitty (Vickie) in Kalymnos in a sunday where Vets was closed except one. She was in a bad condition that the vet tells me she could only endure for a few day in outside. She couldnt eat bc she cant smell of the food. She’s saved and adopted there. Id like to ask the procedure for taking the cat to Germany from Eu. I thought it would take months.
@NearFromHome Жыл бұрын
That’s amazing!! The procedure of taking the animal from Greece to Germany was simple. Buy the cat a ticket on the aeroplane and have a pet passport. That was it. Just take the pet with you and your are good.

This is so well done. Shakespeare and Mookie approve. They are from the Woodstock Feral Project (NY). I notice you didn’t mention TNR efforts. Trap Neuter Release. That is used to reduce the populations. Is it not done in these locations? Thanks for this video. I will share!
@NearFromHome Жыл бұрын
They do! But the technical implementation details as to the specific animal population control measures that Noah’s Little Ark focus on felt out of scope for this video. I didn’t want to get too into the weeds and instead keep it purely focussed on what can a tourist themselves do :)

Ohhhhh when you are chosen you gotta step up! Thank you so much for doing just that! Getting those kitties fixed would be the best way to start controlling the exploding numbers of kitties.. then more resources would be available to care for all for life. I wouldn't enjoy a holiday seeing so many in need.. homelessness of all kinds. Everyone deserves a loving home.. wealthy enough to travel? Then maybe wealthy enough to donate. Thanks for the tough info.. it's needed!!!! 9 indoor cat employee here... down from 13.. N. Georgia USA.. spay and neuter your pets ppl! Too many free roaming dogs and cats breeding.. the suffering is unbearable.
@valarieirons44472 ай бұрын
Much respect to Silke!!! I agreed so much with exactly what she said regarding Rosemary.. she fought so hard not to give her the chance... love vets but they don't know it all and most are humble in agreement. What a better world if all had a fraction of her empathy and action! ❤
@NearFromHome2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! You are right, they need more investment is spay and neuter programs. If we lived in an area with a lot of strays, we would definitely be a nice cat household lol

@NearFromHome i am living the definition of crazy cat lady!... Currently have 3 that are super high maintenance so the struggle is real.. ha. Only one of our herd was a kitten i adopted from a friend 18 years ago.. ALL the others have been strays around our neighborhood over the last 16 years after relocating to Georgia... it has been mind-blowing! The shelters here allow ppl to adopt before spay and neutering, soooo. .. many do not make it back.. and the concept of indoor only is foreign w most ppl i meet. Btw.. found your channel last night after looking at Krampus videos.. your info on the ones randomly getting extra 'feisty' sure is good to know... I'd love to witness the parade of different groups and see them in small villages.. hopefully any i encounter will not think I need a swat! Ha... but seriously... I can imagine there have been situations with things getting out of control on both sides. I'll definitely be researching more before any trips. Happy Safe Traveling!!!
