Honestly 3 years ago I’d have hated the idea of separating campaign from multiplayer, but now I think they should just release a single player Halo on its own, and have a separate multiplayer experience that’s not weighed down by the campaigns mechanics. If Microsoft hadn't wanted to "cut costs" on benefits for long-time employees, it wouldn't have ruined the game's development. But he did what he did and that it hindered Halo Infinite too much. Halo 7 is their chance to truly realize the franchise's greatest potential. Microsoft must make a team of devs who work from start to finish. Do you know how bad it is to be hired for a short time to learn about the engine that was made by a previous team until you finally actually develop something just for this process to repeat itself? 343 is only 20%. I love how you guys try to act like Halo has always had the maturity of Fallout or Doom or Wolfenstein or something. Halo has never been that mature in terms of Graphic Content. The only reason the first 3 were M rated was because of the Flood Human Dismemberment (If only the alien flood could be dismembered it would have been T im not joking, alien blood also doesn’t count for ratings either)Swearing has never been that common either. Halo 4 was only M for the Composing Scene. I like to think these people longingly look back at the old Halos like they were Postal 2 or something.

The more I read and watch about Halo lore, especially what came after 343 took over, the more obvious it becomes to me that the main cause of conflict in Halo universe is the Mantle. I mean that's obvious on a surface level as well, but what I mean is that the mere concept of the Mantle is a challenge of apocalyptic proportions and even if (or perhaps especially if) one has it firmly in their grasp, there will be total war over and over again. If this series ever comes to an end, I wholeheartedly believe it should end with (or by) the factions of the galaxy (or rather what would be left of them by then) turning away from the concept of the Mantle, or becoming wholly unable to claim it through some cataclysm of sorts (cue the Flood maybe?)

I understand this frustration, but I would say it is a matter of strategy. A Gravemind is the greatest danger anyone can see face to face, but we saw in the trilogy that By facing only the forms of combat, we managed to get through everything we went through. Harbinger was an enemy that Chief had difficulty dealing with, unlike a group of Flood's combat forms. And with Harbinger having access and ability to modify Forerruner technology, I still wouldn't say it's worse. The expression "worst" is very misused to describe the Endless. But with them being able to tamper with Forerruner technology without difficulty, I think they are more dangerous. We saw that even the Flood feared Truth. Imagine what beings can use technologies that would make Infinity weak

Exactly. 343 could write a new faction capable of making you explode by just staring at you. That would be unbeatable and far worse than facing anything else simply because you would have no chance whatsoever. In other words, it's technically possible to constantly create a new, bigger, badder villain. But still, that wouldn't make it right. We don't need it. We need good storytelling. At this point, Halo faces the same horrible fate as the MCU. After Thanos, what we needed was only street level dangers. Emotionally charged dilemmas. A slow build up towards a clear, dangerous, oppositional force, even if not trying to be worse than... killing half the universe. What we got instead was multiverse nonsense. Because they felt they needed to go bigger or go home. Same with Infinite. Both cases, a total failure. We only needed the banished as what remains of the covenant, post - covenant religion. A grounded story. The endless are... the worst thing that could have happened to the plot going forwards. Yes, worse than Cortana's feet I MEAN fate.

My wishlist for the perfect Halo game in the order I think of them: 1. Make the open world "open areas" instead (something like what The Witcher 3 did) with different biomes 2. Bring back the Arbiter as a main character 3. Bring back Lord Hood and Lasky 4. The Flood returns 5. Atriox VS Chief and Arbiter (after what he did to Chief, I doubt either one could take him on alone) 6. Scarab battles! 7. Finally introduce Mendicant and Offensive Bias and elaborate on the Forerunner-Flood war in the games 8. The Forerunners return and seeing them operate Forerunner tech and ships in real time. 9. Big naval battles with Forerunner ships VS Flood-infected Forerunner ships or Endless ships (assuming they have any) 10. Acknowledge the Precursors and explain what they are in the games That's about all I can think of off the top of my head but if all of this is in the next Halo game and done well, I'll forgive 343i for everything

Funny, I used to look up Halo 7 even after the release of Halo 5: Guardians. I don't know why, or how I thought of a strange idea. Now, here I am watching HiddenXperia talk about Halo 7. You just blew my mind!

Halo Infinte did Cortana so unbelievably dirty. I don’t care how stupid it sounds, I want them to bring her back. She deserves a proper redemption, especially after Epitaph confirmed the whole reason she was evil was because of the Gravemind. She still has a roll to play and could be a very useful ally. However I think it’s time they made a major change to her character if there’s any reasonable excuse to bring her back. And that’s the human Cortana concept. On the surface it sounds like a shity fanfic idea but if they play it right it could absolutely work. From there I want to see her focus on atonement much like Mendicant Bies, which is an interaction I’d love to see, and working towards bringing some level of peace to the universe without turning into a dictator again

But it had the opportunity to make things right and it didn’t. That’s not on halo 5. We never even got the chance to see were the halo 5 writers were going with that story. And Halo Infinite doesn’t fix the problem, it just sweeps it under the rug in the laziest fashion. And yet the spend the whole campaign trying to convince you it was the right move. Don’t care, if 343 wants me invested in a new story they better make right what they made wrong.

The whole purpose of the weapon just a cheap way to fix Halo 5, the personality trait only exists in Infinite because they wanted to differentiate the character from the original, it's pretty clear with the ending, "pick your name" and then not revealing. You can be 110% sure that she chose to be called Cortana and in the next game she will just be regular Cortana from the old games.

She’s fucking toast if she calls herself that in front of the unsc. The Weapon doesn’t deserve to be a Cortana replacement. She deserves to be her own character with her own name. The Weapon’s future shouldn’t be defined by Cortana’s past. As for Cortana, she deserves a proper redemption. That shallow ass bulshit they pulled in Infinite didn’t fix shit. It just rubbed salt on the wound left by halo 5 and made her resurrection worthless. All it did was destroy her legacy.

As far as all for his goes I do generally hope we can once again see the Spirit of Fire join the fight against the Banished and also against the Endless. It would give the story such poetic Justice to see the one ship and her crew that the Banished couldn’t defeat at the Ark.

I’ll always be excited for halo, but I can’t help but think of what’s already been done to damage it. How many chances will 343i get to make a halo in the same tier of what Bungie made? Just look at the latest Star Wars trilogy. So many theories and hype from hints within the past, only to be ignored and tainted for the sake of creating something new. I think halo needs to just push forward with a clear cut, deep and deliberate story like halo 2, and just have all the lore built in the game cinematics and varied mission locations. 343 has to continue the story that came before instead of messing up creating something new for themselves. I’m just amazed how many chances Microsoft gave them. Sorry for the long comment, but I really do hope for the best and will always be passionate and defend halo after all these years. Thanks for creating such great content too X. Also, do you think that once 343 settle this story of the fight for the mantle and ‘true’ control of the galaxy, would it not be a cool idea and somewhat easy to either reintroduce the flood due to a breakout from fighting again, or have the peak of humanities forces and its alliances with the elites and maybe brutes fight against a massive invading flood threat from another galaxy controlled by another gravemind since it’s been so long to plan and wait for things to reach this point as it’s been in the past (fall of the forerunners and firing of the rings). I don't think they're going to be willing or able to recapture the "Bungie magic" - the best I'd hope for is a side-story a la Reach/ODST and set during the Human/Covenant war. Otherwise, I think they've written and retconned themselves into such a corner that I just can't see them recapturing the stakes of the OG Halo trilogy. I really wanted the flood to make an appearance in Halo Infinite. The whole "Endless" thing that they went with has totally failed to capture my interest, unfortunately.

Seeing as how "Bungie magic" is a myth. Every halo post ce got hate during their release. So quite frankly I should be used to this by now. It's just the cod cycle again, but for halo. I just wish 343 had the ambition bungie did have for their projects. That's what stuck out to me most about bungie. How much content and levels had to be cut or condensed because of overambition and technology not being capable enough.

Ive always said they should do a halo 7 and halo wars 3 in one game. You can play the FPS campaign first and then unlock the RTS. For a third playthrough you are allowed to play in chronological order and swap between RTS and FPS levels and have added cutscenes. (Plus obviously a super special legendary one)

​@@andyfriederichsenI'd love to see it, but I'll be honest I don't think 343 has the talent to make it work. Microsoft purged a massive amount of their staff . Dream world though I'd love to see a mode and/or campaign missions where one player plays fps and a co op player plays the rts version. The rts player clears the way and brings in reinforcements for the fps player who fights with the forces brought in and a competent ai squad of Spartans to support.

I really like the ideas you fleshed out here, and I hope that 343 takes these kinds of speculations into account. I'd really love to see a rich backdrop where we can develop chief as more of a character, and hopefully spend time in other people's shoes like the arbiter or other prominent humans. The relationships between these characters are something I'd like to see more of in the games as well

Some ideas i had while watching the vid: Surprise mission where chief is captured and we play either as arbiter (probably, since i think they will make playable elites) or Jerome! (If they dont make playable elites). I also think that Jerome-Isabelle will be the next Chief-Cortana IF they do it good and not just a copy. With Jerome being more charismatic and Isabelle kinda crazy and cowardly cute. Maybe a halo: Red team game or dlc after halo 7 to make Jerome more popular and, maybe, do a jerome-chief in halo 8? Next idea is the banished; they will help the endless most of the game, then team up for a mission or two and when we defeat the endless, betray us! About the ark: everyone has a reason to go but us. Atriox for the army, Endless for whatever. But humanity? We need to stop them from doing it. Just as we needed to stop the covenant from using the rings. Btw, we will fail just so we reunite and save the spirit of fire. About the Infinity: i doubt its destroyed? Its the best ship humanity had, so i think the survivors will save us in a spirit of fire and infinity and Arbiter's ships vs banished ships cinematic. Wouldnt that be badass? If they dont do that, the spin-off game could be a custom-spartan game on the infinity. You lose your teammates, and it all happens on the ship. It could be cool!

It really is just that. The Precursors intended that it go to humanity in the first place, so the Forerunners killed them to take their place as the dominant species of the galaxy. It's basically the concept of noblisse oblige on a galactic scale.

On the topic of who will the banished side with: they could very well pull a MW shadow company and have them be an individual/third party faction. Basically both the UNSC and banished fighting the endless, but also them fighting eachother. This could very well lead to Atriox being the primary antagonist of 7, with the ending creating a Segway that can see the endless returning again in 8 as the main villains. And at that point, maybe banished forces will be scattered with some trying to help humanity and others going their separate ways or helping the harbinger.
