(Ahem) I've seen this happen when an owner was abusing his farm dog. A Neighbor called the dog over and drove him far away to a loving home. There was a happy ending. ❤

Totally agree with your remarks about addiction. Life gets better when you’re sober, but if you don’t keep it a day by day priority you can think you ARE better and YOU can handle the substance. Maybe you can for a time, but the substance ALWAYS wins unless sobriety remains a priority. I’ve had 9 years sober, 1 year sober many times, 3 years maybe 3 times, ~ 5 years twice, and 22 months currently. Is that crazy?! Oh yeah it is. Addiction is crazy. Life gets manageable when you remove the substance and distance yourself from people that are toxic to your sobriety. I hope James is able to do this, get a program and, if necessary, get outside therapy and/or medication to address the troubling behavior and addiction.

As an alcoholic with DV being a large part of my story; I feel that toxic relationships trigger/respond to the same parts of me that drugs/alcohol do. I was very saddened but not at all shocked by the news of his arrest. I am in no way defending James and I believe the allegations; however, it makes me so sad bc self destruction is so fkn real. Then we have Ally, (who may not have any issues with drugs/alcohol) that might find herself in a pattern alcoholics know all too well. High highs, low lows, and no idea how she got here or how to get out. The whole situation just makes my heart hurt.

OK here’s my thing Kristen was an alcoholic fresh from a narcissistic relationship with Tom who is so one of the pendulum hard the other way, and ended up emotionally abusing James, which created a toxic cycle I feel like when James quit drinking he broke the cycle But I’m not gonna forget that he was 10 years younger than Kristen newer to the city and she was the one encouraging him to drink, and was playing all sorts of mine games on him because she wasn’t over Tom and the mind games he played on her.

I’m not doubting whether Kristen Doute was physically abused by James. What I do have an issue with is we’ve witnessed, more than once, Kristen physically slap and punch James and Tom. She also got involved in the physically altercation between Sandoval and Jax. She was swinging punches and slapping Schwartz, when he tried to stop her from hitting Jax. Bottom line, her “outrage” is a bit hypocritical and self serving. A female physically attacking a man is not more acceptable than a man assaulting a woman.
