My vid shows the fix for this update. *Here's the fix for the future & full update context* I love this game, and I want what's best for it so I will never filter what I think. Typically all my feedback has been done privately, directly to developers. Sometimes I spend more time giving constructive feedback than I do making videos; for the last update I spent 12+ hours. The problem is that we don't get the updates in time for our feedback to result in changes. Updates are close to finalized and creators are like "this NEEDS to change" and clash royale WANTS to listen but since they have a promised update to the public & timeline to meet, the update gets pushed out without all the changes necessary. Even when the intentions of the team are good, the update will completely miss the mark. As a result, we have to do problem-solving & fixing with update ALREADY put in place and solidified in the game, which makes it unbelievably difficult to do. As you can clearly see by path of legends restricting level 15 for 6 months, they tried a fix before the update went live, but it's not even close to enough. This became a mess because there wasn't time set aside for communication and fixes; it was too late to make real changes and release an update we all want. We saw the elite wild card conversion numbers & the progression route in time to make content on it, but not in time to do the math & give practical feedback on how to change the economy in a way they'd be able to implement in time since the update was scheduled and ready to be shipped out. Admittedly, I didn't know what to expect when I went to Finland since the update for losers was such a disappointment. I had never met any of the team in person and I set my expectations low so I wouldn't be disappointed. When I arrived, I was amazed by how big the team got and how passionate everyone was about making clash royale better - Every. Single. Person. They went hours over the time we had scheduled with them, had ample cool ideas on how to improve the game, and listened to all of our feedback. I can say without a doubt, they do care - A LOT. I left Finland more motivated than ever to bounce back to creating clash content, and then this unfortunate update dropped. It's so sad because passionate people are getting flamed for "not caring" and the update isn't implemented in a way the community wants at all either! Seeing this unravel 1st hand is nothing short of devastating. ALL of this could be avoided if we got the updates earlier with more time to give actionable input. I would love "work in progress update/work in progress update ideas" like they do with balance changes or even a clash royale podcast keeping the community updated. If the community doesn't like the direction things are going, we can say it early on. Fixing something at the start is always easier than when it's already built out & ready to go; no precious development time is wasted on something that doesn't work. If they have problems developing something, if it's not implementable or takes more time, they can communicate it so we can understand. If there's not enough communication, the disconnect causes worse updates and an angry, less understanding community. The "work in progress update" made balance changes 10x better because it incorporated us from the start with clear communication, fixing things people found problematic along the way. Instead of handing us a finalized update, this method of communication & inclusiveness would make clash royale the best it's ever been.

But level 15 can and needs to be improved for us so we can focus on enjoying evolutions: *that's why I gave ideas to improve it and more practical solutions that they can implement immediately in the video & why the video is different than the long-term solution pinned comment*

@@SirTagCR yeah I agree. I appreciate your video because unlike the other "protest" videos it was a lot more solution-oriented rather than just complaining. It's pretty obvious that supercell was deadset on releasing level 15. Now that it's here, the decision isn't getting rolled back. I know it's pretty unrealistic to expect them to get rid of it, but in a perfect world, that would be my ideal change. Honestly though, I think that the best we can hope to get is lowered costs/conversion rates.

No shade on other creators, but this was by far the best video on Lv 15. Jake was critical of the update and not sugarcoating it but was also very understanding about the situation the devs are in and how we should be critical of the update itself and not the people (especially since the people we have access to aren't in charge of the update). And collaborating the suggestions into something that the devs could easily follow and has a direction instead of just "bad update. bad" with no suggestions was just the cherry on top. I'm in a similar situation. I had like 5 more cards I needed to max out and then they dropped level 15. I was so excited to finally have a maxed account and it's like they took all the progress I made in the past two years and dumped it down the drain... really disappointing.

I really love cosmetics and customization. The banners, the emotes, the towers. I’m really sad they never continued adding star level costumes for all the cards. It’s only a handful of them that have unique ones. Hoping they could add stuff like that instead

Just recently, writing down my thoughts for the vid, realizing there are actionable solutions for this situation & the doctor confirming I'll be completely ok in a week made me feel a lot better. Even with that, I still think they need to reduce the amount of elite wild cards significantly (50% or more). I'm hopeful that the developers are really going to take the community's feedback into consideration and do justice by the game.

I agree with your solutions and I think it'd be great to add those special troop effects once someone reaches the max level. maybe having different color options for those cards like white or burning red fireball. or purple, white or black wizards that can then shoot different color fireballs. maybe even the option to choose old star levels to revert your troops to the OG forms

Like have them pop into Tombstones, Ghosts, or Hearts for an example. Like how the Graveyard does after you get 3 Crowned and Skeletons are still spawning.

They should add a feature where you can customize you side of the arena like having a different checkered scenery or king and princess outfits, and you can unlock then with new cards from loot pools and depending on outfit and scenery rarity the amount of cards will vary e.g. rare princess and king outfits could be like 30 cards, common could be 10 etc. Hopefully they could add this as it would add a personal touch to the clash royal experience just like your emotes and banners. You can unlock the cards from your basic chests,from the shop or from clan War leagues

Good stuff. As a 7 year player that doesn’t spend much aside from the pass I JUST finally got everything leveled up. I don’t mind the grind getting to a new level as it does give me something to do but it should be obtainable like you said. Also something completely overlooked is the leader UI for managing clan members. It is non functional and takes way too much time to sort players that are inactive or don’t participate in war. Having to demote, find again in list and demote to only have to find them and kick them if needed is a pain. Also without a easy way to determine if players do not compete in war and easily remove is time consuming. As the leader of my clan it is important to keep active players and ones that participate in war to keep us competitive. Hard to do that without proper tools.

It’s so good to have everyone standing against level 15, even super positive people like sirtag. For my ideas for level 15, I agree with the concept of level 15 being cosmetic, or maybe it unlocks new masteries or leveling something to level 15 can allow you to get new card art for the card you upgraded and maybe king level 15 should give you the ability to choose which arena you see while playing, as many people enjoy a certain arena just to have it taken away.

what about deck augmentations that require a certain combination of cards to activate? and the more you level up and level the cards up, the more wacky combinations you can get. and you’d have to play with certain decks to find these augments, which would incentivize more players to try new things. like it could be anything from having all three minion cards in a deck giving them a boost in health or damage, or having three giant cards give them a massive health boost to make them truly “giant”. and the more you level up and the higher level the cards are, the stronger the boost.

Jake I was talking with my brother and I said that when they keep eventually adding more evolutions, it’ll be harder to get them all because they’ll be too many cards to evolve and with little shards that you get (while remaining free to play)

COSMETICS is the way Jake! -Imagine we can change our half of the arena to different themes -cards that shoot arrows n stuff if we can change the color of arrows or even switch it for another fun animation to -remove star levels and make card masteries the way to turn ur troops golden (ex. Princess 1st mastery gives her golden shoes. 2nd golden skirt. 3rd golden shirt... Until final mastery her enter the arena is a golden beam) u get the idea Somethings like that would be awesome because it won't change the balance of the game at all it'll be worth grinding for a different and unique YOU. Kinda like coc has sceneries and different skins for all levels on everything!

If we had something like "dual-troop power" that is, when two or more cards are played and are alive together in the field they should posess some shared abilities ( only level 14 cards ) . An example scenario could be : if a witch and a mini pekka ( both at level 14 ) are dropped in the field, the minipekka can also generate skeletons or attack like witch and witch's power will also be increased due to mini pekka's power ! it will give players new startegies and combinations to explore and make the game play more fun !

I really liked the soundtrack for this season's event, a nice change of genre within music The idea i was thinking was adding some sort of jukebox so you could change the soundtrack of the game anytime like different genre of music or themed music for specific card character. And to get those soundtrack you can get it by achieving them either spending tickets, getting towards certain amount of trophies, discovering easter eggs, leveling up and winning challenges. One thing I've thought about is replacing the rewards on the 3rd Mastery line from Banner Tokens to Elite Wild Cards. Sure it causes a problem for Banner grinders, but level 15 is a far bigger problem. It also makes Masteries more desirable and feel more worth it

Well said as always tag, hats off to you. Super excited about evolutions myself, can't wait to see my favorite cards having evolutions. But, just like 95% of the community, I think lvl 15 should either be reworked or removed. I'm sure they've heard enough of our feedback, I just hope they make a move

Great video, as always. I would love to see some cool cosmetics added for level 15, which I'm sure has been suggested before. The artwork coming out lately and design is really impressive. I know it would take time to implement but I think card skins could be really cool. Like in brawl stars where you can change the appearance of your cards. Players love cosmetics and would introduce another revenue stream to the game. Think things like comanche princess, teutonic Knight. Maybe true silver and true gold? Showing off unique skins is way more of a flex than an extra level that's currently far too ptw to be viable.

Hi Jake, thank you for being such a respectful person. I've had a crazy idea and maybe it's a bit over the top. Imagine together with manually enforced balance changes and on top of card evolutions, cards would evolve randomly. Good cards (i.e., cards with higher win rates) would be automatically nerfed and weak cards would be automatically buffed by changing their elixir cost by +/- 1 or by increasing/decreasing their respective health, damage, first hit, death damage, area of influence, range etc. On top of that imagine everyone would have slightly different card stats due to evolution. But maybe that's an idea for a whole new game then... Blessings from Germany!

Jake, thank you for this great video. As a current clash royale player, i do agree about such level 15 upgrade is a massive mistake. I appreciated that many clash royale pros like you and brad are talking seriously about this, this is not a great update and we have to take actions to let them know about this and change it. Once again, thank you jake for making such meaningful and good video, looking forward to seeing the changes.

Love this approach to trying to fix this problem. My idea would be a level cap you adjust. For example if you have 1 or 2 decks upgraded to level 13 set your cap to 13 whilst you collect more cards and when your ready push your cap up. I would put caps starting at 11 and cannot face higher than the cap you select

I’d really enjoy some card skins. Lightning could be different colors, fireball could be a kitchen sink or random objects, explosions for when your tower gets destroyed. Clan boat customization?

Props for making this video... Having ranked standardized at level 11 would be the absolute best change clash royale could make. However, i dont think they will do it. And my reasoning is that clash royale is notorious for coorelating things that don't make sense. Like saying players upgrade cards outside of their main decks, means that they want more card levels...... They already added level 11 ranked, but it was attached to mega draft. I guarantee theyre gonna say people dont want level 11 ranked because they didnt play the mega draft season. I really really hate theyre pushing everyones account backwards in progression. Their additions to the game is by taking away from us. I had multiple maxed decks that i really enjoyed playing. Now i dont have a single maxed card and am at a disadvantage

For me,a casual player,having the ability to use,play and compete against other players on an even ground with the level 11 restricted game modes is god sent,there is so many more decks and cards I can finally use and feel enticed to level up so I can use different strategies,and i was so stoked when they brought the lvl 11 2v2s....leveling to 11 is easy,and even at level 10 I can safely use some of these cards and still have fun with it...level 14 is already a big grind for me,I can't imagine having to level 15 everything before I can actually compete with other players

Ranked gameplay at tournament standard would be a dream come true... And adding visuals and stuff for maxed cards is fun too.. at least you don't have to be maxed out to be "good" at the game...

I have a few suggestions, but I don't think most of them are main update worthy since they don't really affect gameplay too much. • More customization that isn't behind a pay wall. - Skins for the Princess and King themselves? - Animations for tower destroyed. • Star Levels - It is only visual, but I feel like they dropped it and just forgot about the mechanic. • More uses for gold? - After cards. It is basically useless. - Buy cosmetics, possibly? It isn't massive compared to the ideas others give, but it is always nice to get cool cosmetics. For example, banners for mastery of units.
