With how much Tumblr girls were actually obsessed with him, I can understand and appreciate the distance from fans. I hate the idea of celebrity worship and parasocial relationships, and the crowd surrounding sad boy pop punk pretty much survived off parasocial relationships people felt they could form due to the raw emotion of the genre. Good on him for keeping that distance instead of feeding into the toxocity of said parasocial relationships.

My band got to play a festival with TSSF last summer and i went backstage before their set to try and say hi. Parker was happy to meet and even snap a photo together with the band. He even suggested I join them for a beer after the set (but I didn't want to push my luck). I never thought I'd get the chance to meet my heroes as a "co-artist", I'm thankful that they were so cool to a stranger. As a long time fan I wish them every success.

I’m just watching this video now because it popped up in my recommendations and it’s literally spot on! I feel like his drug addiction also contributed to the way he acted a lot. He got sober between the self titled and proper dose releases, and you could immediately see the change in his whole entire demeanour. I honestly have never felt prouder of a person than when he came clean about his addiction and new found sobriety. Makes me wonder just how long he was really an addict. Once I had this info and took a step back and looked at all of the controversies surrounding him, it seemed like I understood better. There’s also an interview he did with Kerrang around the PD release, he kinda lets you in on what was going down with the band and himself before they began writing. He really seems like a genuine guy aside from all the bullshit. People just seem to forget that band members and celebrities deserve happiness too. They aren’t fucking gods. They’re people like the rest of us. Treat them that way.

Can we talk about how Parker is a trend setter? He started the vocal style of shouting and rhyming simple melodies a lot and TSSF under soil and dirt birthed soooo many bands that had decent success (namely neck deep… without that album you don’t get neck deep). When TSSF went a bit more soft then all the other bands followed suit.

somehow stumbled here in 2023, and I cant help but wonder in reference to "Daughters" how anyone could say an artist is "wrong". Plenty of other Pop-emo and sad-boi pop punk bands have similar lyrics. Parker seems like one of the most genuine guys. Dude gave me a shirt bc I mentioned his show seemed low-energy. He admitted he wasn't feeling well but did not want to cancel so he performed anyway. Artist are allowed feelings and emotions too, even if the words aren't ones people like.

I've met him a few times and he's a really good guy. They played Ali in London after I asked him, they really didn't have to do that. I just found No Pressure last night and I completely agree that it's his best work since "What You Don't See". That style of his work is my favorite: the fast, biting lyrics on the backdrop of a super catchy song. It's kinda shitty how everyone who wasn't at that Houston TX show tried saying he was kicking and pushing women... Without mentioning the fact that a girl rushed Parker on stage, grabbing Parker by the face, trying to kiss (SEXUALLY ASSUALT!!!) him. The other guy (yes this happened with a girl in a different state), hopped on stage, at a separate show, and tried to take a selfie on stage... I don't think anyone here needs an explanation on why both of these things are wrong. After the show where he shoved the girl, he said "I hope this provides a little insight onto why I am so stand-offish sometimes" .... A little perspective on double standards, and double-sided stories. Bottom line, IT'S THEIR STAGE. THEY WORKED TO GET THERE, they did their time. Anyone hopping onstage for a kiss, or a selfie, hasn't. And it's bullshit.

I saw them for the second time at the rockstar fest in Houston. The venue is this huge stage with rows of seats (not the ideal venue for a band like this) especially as most people were there to see the bigger bands in the line up. during their set I was one of the only ones dancing and singing along in my seated section and Parker looked at me and gave me one of these 👊🏻 from the stage and a head nod. While I’ve never had the chance to meet him I’ll never forget that.

You know from what I’ve seen and the music I listen to, it’s interesting to see Parker emulate Liam Gallagher. I really dig the direction it’s taken them. Like, he really likes Liam(and Oasis) I can’t wait to hear what the have for us next.

Parker looks like he would play hockey, if he wasn't in tssf. And I would love him either way. Parker is such a good bad boi, I love him
