They are just nice to have, and you really don't have to go crazy. Very quiet, great training guns for people whom have never shot, handy for around the house. Can get something that will cycle 24 rounds on one tank that you fill up with a hand pump for under 400 bucks for the gun and the pump.

Since I have greatly modified my 30 cal M3 I don't think the M4 is for me, nice enough but do not consider the upgrades on the M4 significant enough to warrant a purchase. Not all of us can afford to just buy the "latest" great thing either, just bought a 35 cal dynamic to add to the 25 cal Pathera so no money left anyway

Until the sloppy barrel system is fixed, no more FX for me. Every time you put an FX smooth twist in a case or bag, it'll lose zero. Had a streamline and dreamline. I replaced it with a 5.5 AGT uragan with a LW barrel. Have had to set the zero once or twice in 2 years. My uragan shoots nielsen slugs sub moa at 120 meters for about 1/3 of what an impact would cost.

The only issue with fx is they're relatively unreliable as soon as someone starts messing with them. I'd say 50 to 60 percent, we sell are returned for warranty work from accuracy loss to leaks. When they work, they're hammers, but getting long-term reliability seems a flip of a coin on the tech that assembled it.

No, the main reg is behind the plenum. The air from the plenum dumps directly through the transfer port.

It's a nice airgun but I wouldn't want to trade it for my Western Rattler 357. My Rattler is set up for 15 shots @225fpe with a 120 grain slug. 275fpe is also possible with heavier slugs but I prefer it this way. It's semi-automatic so no need to use a sidelever, just keep your crosshair on the target and pull the trigger. The TJ barrel makes 1.5" groups at 150 meters (!). Some don't like the internal magazine but I love it. It's titanium and much more robust than flimsy external mags which may need replacing. FX is nice, I love them for their looks and quality but I wish they used the semi auto hammerless design Huben, LCS and Western use. A big con for the Western Rattler though is that it's very expensive and a bit on the heavy side but that's where their Sidewinder line up comes in. But this FX is very cool too, I love that trigger adjustment system.

I have been looking at getting an impact for a while, as an upgrade to the FX Royale 400 in 22cal. What is your take on power, vs range, vs accuracy of the different caliber pellet/slugs? I am leaning towards 30cal, for critter removal…but maybe 25cal is better for range? The Royale is great for ground Squirrels, out to 100m, but after that the drop and loss of power is significant.

I was excited when the impact m4 was released. Some of the upgrades are okay but overall weren’t compelling enough for me to buy one. I actually purchased a used impact m3 from Utah Air Guns with some great accessories for the same price as a new impact m4. I don’t see an increase in velocity so what’s the point of spending an additional two thousand dollars? If you already have a M3?

That's $4000 worth of rifle where I live. Super cool, but would require making some space in the gun safe just to pay for it. For anyone watching that is in Australia, get a .17HMR instead. It'll cost way less, is pretty quiet (average Joe can't have any sort of sound suppression here anyway) and at 240ish ft-lb of muzzle energy, I'm pretty sure it outperforms an Impact anyway. I say the .17HMR because it is so much better than a .22LR. Having the option to take 150m+ shots is great too. The .22LR (in my opinion) runs out of steam too quickly and is underpowered for foxes. Having the option to get hunting for a fraction of the cost is a pretty big deal. I own a PCP in .17CAL and never shoot it because it is simply way more convenient to shoot a centrefire rifle at what I am trying to hunt.

Hi Matt! Problem: Gun 1 week not in use, no changes in Regs and constant pressure, but first shots very low speed (880 ft/s) but increasing with every further shots, after 10-15 shots stabilizes at programmed 960 ft/s. Very bad for hunting use. Any ideas what could cause this problem ? Don't want to disassemble the whole gun

Matt did the FX M3 community discover that the Delrin piston in reg#2 is more durable than originally thought? I've been told that the original stock M3 can be run not only at 300 bar but with reg#1 bypassed. That is, like the M4. I've replaced reg#2 with a Huma air unit so I feel like bypassing the 1st reg should be OK. Another question is why is a special part needed for that? Why not just open it up with the adjustment screw ?

I dont know. That new Umarex Zelos in .25 seems really enticing for $599. It's zinging pellets and slugs at 900fps with amazing accuracy. The fx M4 is at least $1700? Most people aren't serious enough to plunk down that type of cash, especially in today's economy and world events.

Is there a 20 MOA rail? I have a March 5x42x56 scope with 40 MIL of internal adjustment. For this wide range of magnification it is recommended that you use 20 MOA rail or mount so you are looking through the centre of the optic. All my mounts are Spuhr mounts with 0 MOA as it is always built into my long range rifles. This new Impact M4 makes me want to venture into the world of Airguns!

Is it correct that you can get a click when cocking the M4 before it is actually fully cocked? It'd be easy to load a slug without a full cock and, possibly, then double load when you fully cock. Does that make sense? I like to hear an audible indicator that tells me that it's cocked and loaded so I know I'm good to go especially on night hunts. I can anticipate errors (speaking about myself) if the click is not confirmation of a loaded, ready to fire, weapon.

FX are burning MK1-2 impact owners with non upgradeable parts for the older models on new releases of the impact. I purchased an MK2 watching your videos, I do love the gun but will not fork out $3k every time FX adds minor iterations. Most people would hand over hard earned money to FX if they look after the customer. Make them upgradable (all parts) so we won't have to try move an old model gun to upgrade.

Ditch the first reg or go huma, put the bigger plenum and power block on, run a tungsten hammer, change to a 1 piece top strap/rail. Now your impact is an m4 more or less. The rest is stuff you've likely changed anyhow and fx rolls out upgrades as a model ages, you'll likely be up to date on your own.

🤠 Another great video/class, thank you 👍👋👋👋 I get a feeling that in some cases a smaller caliber pellet may be more lethal if the speed is higher than the larger caliber for medium to large game; like crossing both lungs of a deer. Where as it seems to me that at 50 yards the larger .35 cal would be significantly more powerful for hunting than the .30 cal. But at 100 or 200 yards… I’m not so sure how long would the weight of the projectile works against its effective reach. Maybe we should have a calculator of: speed, versus calibers and grains to know that. Could you please comment on the lethality difference between the .30 and.35 calibers - for the higuest power of the M4 - at 50, 100 and 200 yards?

I read a lot of comments, some very aggressive in relation to Matt Dubber where they say that he lies and stops talking about the defects and weaknesses of the FX M3 impact rifles, I think it is very serious to accuse someone without proof, denigrating his image and credibility to the whole world, we have to have serenity before being acidic towards our fellow man. I would like to make an observation to air rifle shooting influencers like Matt and many others who represent major gun manufacturers: always be clear and sincere with your audience and followers, because a rifle like the FX M3 that costs USD 1,000 in Europe and the USA in Brazil reaches R$ 6,000 in Brazilian currency as a reference, this is the value of a car. You can’t buy the rifle and it doesn’t work as expected.

Late to the party but…. To fix barrel sensitivity get a couple of 3d printed brackets that locks the air bottle and barrel together, problem solved. As for harmonics, the stiffer the barrel is the better IMHO …. My M3 works just fine The floating barrel is an issue that really should be addressed from the factory, everyone who commented on it losing POI with the slightest bump is correct.

The plenum is not 75cc according to Ernest. Its the same volume as the m3, just with 750 on it. Looks like a marketing trick. The first regulator has now a dead plug, so the block is the same. All the things that have changed are just tiny details. IMO not worth switching from M3 to M4. Being not able to use the bagrider, cheeckriser etc from Saber Tactical is just a huge huge drawback.
