My son mowed the lawn today. I just had a fresh shower and a white tshirt on. I was moving the lawnmower so he could wash under it. He turned the hose towards the grass with a pinpoint stream which dug into the dirt and grass and completely covered me with dirt, grass everything! So I understand the sawdust all over you.

Get the roof sheathing covered with a weather wrap so if rain you have no water down below. The osb offers no water protection and will absorb water and start to swell

I have so much respect for your family values and the leap of faith you're taking together. You're living the exact life I wanted for my growing family, way back then. You're story, Jeremy being retired as a police officer, and you're skills with hands on building your dream home... that was my life growing up, with a police officer father, he retired younger, and then started building our dream cabin in the mountains, all out of the love of family. Mellisa you're AMAZING TOO! Home schooling your children, your CHILDREN, Well how can they not be amazing as well coming from parents like yourselves. My dream is to build IN Montara, hopefully soon, and have all my children, and their children live and work the land, and be a little community together all close by, close enough to ride our horses to one another's homes,. You are all SO INSPIRING! God bless you all! 🙏

Timber frame building is a really fast way to build a house, it took me 2 years to build my house single handed with concrete block walls and I had no roof trusses either so had to cut my own roof. Well worth all the long days and hard work though. to be debt free with no mortgage in 2008 when everyone else was in a panic. Hard work pays.

@JamesCouch777 3 жыл бұрын
That's about the same length of time as it took Heath from Red Poppy Ranch to build his frame house by himself. It's just that two people working together can get probably five times more work done than one person by themselves.

My father and I alone, built my house in 1986. We did it all except for the poured walls. He was 59, and I was 30. I was working full time at Pella Windows and Doors. So, we worked every afternoon after I got off and weekends as weather permitted, of course. 10 1/2 months from cutting the first tree to moving in. We were both experienced in construction. So, I am eager to see how it goes installing the sliding door and all those windows. Best wishes.

At the end of your video you talked being afraid to leave a job.. and take a new course.. I did that in 1981, when I left a good paying job, to set out on being a full time artist/sculptor... I've never regretted it.

That ending was absolutely beautiful! I’ve been playing these Vlogs for my 8 year old daughter and she loves them as much as I do. Keep up the good work!

I am SO PROUD of you two!!! You work so well together and look what you have already accomplished! Melissa, you are truly what God was talking about when he created a "helpmate" for Adam. You are a true and shining example. Jeremy, you are an excellent husband and take such good care of Melissa and your family. I have been watching you for months and love to watch your progress. Keep on "ROCKIN'"!!!!

I know this is an older video, but we really enjoy you two, seeing your progress, but most of all is seeing your smiles, your energy, wonderful marriage and 'can do' spirit. BUT, what is most memorable, as is often the case, is Melissa's final commentary at the end. I just love the way her mind works.... a very smart cookie! My lord you two are just so magnetic, as is your FANTASTIC property - to die for! I told my wife if we ever won one of those stupidly huge $1 billion lotteries, I'd offer you $50 million for that place. She just glared at me as if it would be a sin to disturb any part of what you two ultimately created there, or to tempt you away from your dream....and I agree. All blessings and good things to you and your remarkable children.

Love all the "huge eye popping" shots from Momma Mellissa on this one. Scared, "but just do it" is great advice! I truly love your design of this house, soon to be a home.
