So we did a thing…we bought by a van in the UK as foreigners!🚗🔑😆🥳 This is something that we never thought was possible but after some researched, we found out that buying a car in the UK is simple for foreigners and all that is required is an address that notices can be sent to and that is pretty much it.
We are filled with a mix of emotions - excited, nervous, disbelief, maybe a few thoughts of ‘Are we crazy’! Which the answer to that is DEFINITELY! 🤪But most of all we just thrilled to have a little place to call our own😁
We have been looking at van life in Europe for the past year as we wanted to do something new and exciting and it is the cheapest way to explore Europe. After looking for months for a van online that suited what we wanted, we found one in Scotland that was fully converted and ready for us to move in. But before we can actually start calling it home sweet home, we need to get a few things to make it livable, cozy, and homely. ❤️

Congrats guys, it’s one of the best way to do Europe in my opinion just because the cost is astronomical otherwise. If you want to sell it afterwards, or need any parts or mechanical advice for it whilst you are travelling then let me know and I can help you out. I rebuild cars and vans, done a conversion before too, sold it 4 years ago when my child was born but will be doing another one now they are growing up :)

Hi remember you can't drive your Van into any LEZ ULEZ zone in the UK. They are all over the place, mainly within cities. You got to leave it outside and use public transport to get in. If you do drive in, you'll get charged up to a few hundred quid a a day plus, depending how many times you drive into the zones. It's fine in rural places though. Just Google online and plan ahead. Hopefully you ain't got caught out. Glasgow has one, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and lots in England.

That's crazy not knowing how to fill up with petrol. I'd love for someone to do that for me 😜 Just remember diesel is the black nossle, not the green one. Some fuel pumps have a button to pay at the pump or kiosk. Good luck and safe travels, Daniel and Leanne.

EDIT: I'll put this first...my name for the van would be "ROSE!!" Red (I know there are other colors but Red is the default lol) beautiful, positive and means Love 🙂It's so funny, you two have been to the corners of the world I'll probably never see in person...and you've never experienced Snow? lol PLEASE take my snow!! ahhh Anyway, and seeing you pump your own gas, wow! BUT that's a quick learning curve there yes? Be careful when you lock the trigger, when it's supposed to auto stop when full. Sometimes they don't work correctly and spill fuel! (rare though) One important thing I saw missing was a passthrough door to the rear from the drivers seat, BUT you do have a full opening so you can slide into the drivers seat from the rear. SO IMPORTANT because if you ever have to get out FAST you need to be able to reach the drivers seat without exiting the vehicle. Say someone was trying to break in..etc..Real life. So excited for your adventure, STAY SAFE and read up on everything about that van's maintenance in case you have to fix something and have no help. It could save your life! Love and journey on!! :-)))))
