When exploring a place, we always try and find a way to explore it rather than walking around. So we found a bicycle rickshaw and thought, this is going to be fun!
We rented a bicycle rickshaw/tuk-tuk in Galle Sri Lanka for 30 minutes to ride around the Galle Fort and explored it a little. This turned out to be way more fun than we expected and found the best ice cream we have ever tasted on our travels!
After watching the sunset from the fort walls, we tried some good Sri Lankan Food at a place called coconut sambal!

Some of the best beaches in Sri Lanka are in east coast in Trincomale, Pasikuda, and Arugam Bay although may not have all the luxuries that you will find in more touristy places like Galle.

Unfortunately, no one is allowed to enter some of the underground places of the fort, but some old things are kept in the museum. Swords,Guns, ammunition, clothes etc.

This fort has a vibrant violent history.just google and see " seige of Galle" - how duch defeated the portugese by a naval expeditionary force attack with the help of the armies from singhala king from Kandy in mid 1600 AD.ultimately portugese were defeated in an epic battle which caused 1000 of lives lost. Every inch of that fort is soaked with portugese ,duch , english and local singhalese blood !!! So many duch people died in "seige of Saint Cruz de Galle "battle they ended up saying" gold in Malacca lead in Galle!"
