For the Carbos in water, 2 things make them take massive damage. 1) If they move for some reason they take almost exclusively head-shot damage and it seems higher too. 2) If they're clumped together, tek turrets will do massive splash damage to them no matter what their armor is, like 100+ per shot. You're better off sending a handful up at a time/groups in different spots and staggering them as best you can.
