One of the best qualities of this channel is the ambient sounds of water rushing against the boat, sails crackling in wind gusts, birds saying cheers! O to be young, pressing my fingers into the granite faces, stretching my limbs and pulling against gravity. Thank you Kika and Dan. More sailing, more mountains and of course Norwegian mocha coffee. Please.

For a boat that was in such bad condition when you bought her, to look at what you have done and where you have sailed it is mind boggling. I wonder did Dan & Kika of all those years ago ever think they would make it this far in this boat ? (My bet is they did !) Love your sailing content. Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!

I love the Norway videos! The current you were sailing through was my view for about 2 months when I lived in one of the houses you can see at 9:28! I was there to study and observe harbour porpoises as part of my thesis. They really like the fast-moving current over there! Awesome to see you guys sailing through it! I have seen a lot of boats sailing through, but I can't remember any sailboats! In winter 2019 I revisited the place and made a youtube video about it:)

The blue color of the water in contrast with the mountains frosted in snow with a beautiful pale blue sky with Uma making her way along the sea was mesmerizing. I watched the first few minutes 3 times to soak it all in. Pretty cool climbing adventure for sure. Another great Sailing Uma adventure! Cheers and thanks for sharing!

I mutter to myself about Kika’s power to weight ratio being naturally advantageous but of course there is no denying that this lady was handed the talent for movement at the design stage - 6A on the first outdoor climb is 👏 ! Thank you both for letting us live vicariously through you!

She did 3/4 at the 6A, and we don't know if she knows that falling just once it is not doing the route but even so, it is outstanding indeed.

Uma is an extraordinary boat. From a barely floating lump, our two young heroes here made it a high tech wonder. Imagine, for the cost of a somewhat ordinary couch as the base, it took them from the south to beyond the Artic circle !

This is off topic and might be useful. I was cleaning up and a restoration project and came across about 4 -5 gallon buckets of very old, dense charcoal briquettes. I am moving soon so I decided to burn them in my wood stove. I am AMAZED at how well they burn! I throw about 25 into the stove and the burn slowly all day and keep the house very warm. You may want to see if you can find them in Norway. Again, another great video!

Hi guys, hope your Svalbard adventure was as good as ours, we had an amazing time. It’s been great watching your videos sailing north, as we went a different route mostly, we get to see some of the places we didn’t go to, and that’s great, and a little flash of Tess Bess in you video in Tromsø marina was cool, we also have a little flash of Uma in our video from Tromsø. Anyway guys, hope your settling in for winter somewhere nice, we are heading back to Shetland, looking forward to seeing how you found the Barents Sea, it was pretty epic for us, a tough trip even in a bigger boat. All the best from Sailing Tess Bess.

Man, as a Canadian of the Montreal, Québec region, I cannot imagine surviving 118°F. Yesterday, here, it was a record breaking temp of 31°C but with the humidity factor, 39°C. that's 102.2°F ! How do you do it ?? I realize that with 0% humidity, it's (more?) bearable, but even so ... ! 😱

@@marcryvonThanks, Marc. The secret is to get up early, say 4 or 5 am and accomplish whatever you want to do. Temperatures are in the 70s or low 80s. Be done by 9:30 or 10 am. Then, stay indoors in AC. I am a gardener and do a lot of heavy work. I still sweat but shower up when I come in. I tend to eliminate hiking or biking when the temperatures climb into the 90s or above before I expect to finish a hike or bike ride. Thanks for your comment.

Great episode! The scenery is spectacular! Kika, as a fellow vertically challenged person, know that when you climb, it is harder for you than for Dan. It shows up more in the harder rated climbs like 6 and above. He is taller, so he can easily reach for holds that you have to lunge for. He may be able to reach a solid hold, while you have to pinch a smaller one. Great job on those climbs!

It's you guys that inspired me to buy a sailboat and sail . I live here in Aruba the caribbean and i work in gardening ( love it ) . Plus living on a boat and sail around the island is a great idea to look forward to . I will look and put some money away to do this . Thanks to you guys . This gave me hope after all that has been going on . Now i will do some sailing classes and rules and regulations for sailing and shipping. Then i will get most of the stuff i need onboard , generator windturbine solarpannals etc etc. And put a quarter of the costs of the boat on savings the rest i loan from the bank ( i have good credit with my bank so big chance they will say yes) . And than look for a nice boat i can sail alone. And live in. Thank you guys for this i needed this.

6a is not so difficult for a climber, but for a person that tries to climb for the first time it is something very very good, you are a strong woman in good shape, and even if you have still a lot to improve, your body was too far from the rock wall so too much of your weight was hanging on the hands instead of being supported by the feet, you are a natural climber, if you would have chose the mountain as your play ground instead of the see you would have done really great things. Well done Kika!
