That's a classic "water does not compress" result! I mean, pull the spark plugs before you crank it!

You are correct, if they would have completely drained all the fluids, pulled,the spark plugs and emptied everything, it would most likely had been fine.

It was running when it stalled, the starter didn't do that.

Now that you say that I am really scratching my head. You are probably right. They told me they tried to start it after pulling it out of the creek. That one twisted rod really had the motor bound so I really don't know how and when all the damage happened. I'm just thankful the crank survived.

@@Hillbillygarage1215 Well let me rephrase that. They swamped it and the water made it hydro lock hence the bending of the rods like that.
