@@MrCrockaG lemme put it this way...I appreciate the handicraft and his improv nature in this age of digitally generated (and soon to be automated) music production. It's the entire process for me. The way Marc handled the dude in the wheelchair and the hat getting all up in his bubble @ 1:24:45 was a real life lesson in how you can always choose to handle a situation with grace. Hey man, keeping with your note about positive energy, I don’t like to throw any negativity to any people who choose to record the moment on their phones- if I was just walking by on my way to get somewhere and had no idea who Marc was, I would totally stop for a second and take a picture or quick video to capture the moment so that I don’t forget seeing it in the future. Or if I had time to stay and watch the show I’d totally pull my phone out to capture a moment or two from my perspective throughout the show. My memory isn’t so good these days because I spent most of my youth living on a philosophy of “live in the moment because it’s all we’ve got - our own sensory experience of the world right now, and nothing else” and I used that philosophy to justify trying every sensory-altering substance I could find, in order to experience my life from as many different perspectives as possible at every moment- What I didn’t realize until I got older, was that being 100% in the moment at all times meant I ended up having no memory of dozens of concerts and festivals I went to that were hugely important to me; once-in-a-lifetime shows I have no memory of to this day, because I was so focused on making the in-the-moment experience as incredible as possible for myself that the substances ended up frying my long-term memory and now it’s as if I never experienced them at all. I have huge regrets about large chunks of my life I wish I could go back and take my phone out for one second to take a picture, or not do acid and ecstasy AND that edible I ate on top of it, but maybe just one of those drugs or none at all so that I could at least have a memory that it happened. Because if we go through life living only for the moment, we end up living a life that’s as if we never lived it at all. I’m going to die with no memories of most of my life that I really wish I remembered, but instead I sacrificed having lived my peak years of my life just to make them maybe 50% more enjoyable, temporarily, in the moment. …My point is, I don’t judge anyone for enjoying life how they choose to as long as it doesn’t ruin others’ enjoyment of their life. If someone wants to take their phone out or leave after only a few songs halfway through a concert, I let them and I don’t judge them for doing so. I know I wish I had lived my own life differently, so who am I to judge others on how they choose to live theirs? Anyway, just my (very long-winded) 2 cents. Apologies for sounding like a burnt-out druggie reliving their memories of being younger and doing too many drugs, but I literally am that person now despite still being in my 20s, because those choices I made took away the years of peak brain development when I was younger, and the first half of my life and now the rest of my life (my long-term memory won’t come back). I can’t run from it or hide from it, so I just accept it and try to live without being unhappy or making anyone else unhappy going forward🤷🏻‍♂️ Kind of like if I see another person on their phone at a concert or doing something else that I wouldn’t do myself; Acceptance without judgment is a huge weight off my shoulders.

This makes me so homesick for NY. 😭 I’ve been a transient nomad since 2011, living, working, and traveling all over the world. I’m accepting that I can’t be in one place too long. I worked in NY for a year and half. Nothing ever gets old there, just gets more character. It’s a variety seekers paradise. I left at the end of 2020. Since then I’ve road-tripped and camped through an immense part of the States. I love the expansiveness of the SW & W but there ain’t no major city like this and we all know it. The NY energy is incredible and the amount of creativity packed into every inch is intoxicating. I hope all the NYers who moved down to South FL (my hometown) keep bringing more of these vibes. Every time I revisit, the vibe keeps getting even more enhanced! Bring your sweetness down to Miami pleazzz 💓
